Yeah but both WWHD and TPHD were developed by the main teams at Nintendo EAD, why wouldn’t they do the same with SSHD?
My point is that, despite effort going into the port, it won’t detract from the work going into BotW2, regardless of who is working on it. Even if it’s given to a separate team or not.

I'm still amazed people are saying it doesn't look good/improved over the wii... are they watching the trailer on their phones or something? The difference is even more noticeable than that of twilight princess. And it was hard to tell but the textures did seem updated in some way to look cleaner than upscaled ss does on an emulator
Plus 60fps is glorious and I'm surprised nintendo really went for it, even if none of the gameplay changes (which dont get me wrong they could stand to change some things) it'll still be a decent port, just probably not on the same level as wwhd

The changes are clearly visible even on my phone.
I'm more curious about the button controls. How they work out ;)

The original game's art style looked very fuzzy because of the low quality, especially in the sky. Faron woods looks amazing, and everywhere looks great. It's almost a bit jarring considering I've played this game three times. Maybe this time I'll actually finish it!

I watched the announcement on my phone on the way home from work yesterday while riding the train. Due to the poor signal on the train it only loaded in 144p and looked terrible and now you’re telling me this isn’t Nintendo’s fault?

I’ve already dropped a preorder for both the game and the joycons. SS is definitely up there for me in terms of least favourite Zelda game. However, this time I’ll be going into it knowing what to expect. I really thought it had a boring story and the tasks that the game got you to do literally amounted to elevated fetch quests with little to no variation in each region. Definitely buying to experience Ancient Cistern and Lanayru Mining Facility in glorious HD and hoping that other QoL changes might be present and sway my opinion somewhat. I’m willing to give this game another shot since I’ve only played it 5-ish times since it released.

It looks different, but it doesn't look different enough to justify a $60 price point. This isn't a remake, just a port job. It's just upscaling the game's resolution and throwing in proper controls.

How much did Wii games go for new? 40 bucks? 50? Seems like 10-20 bucks is a decent enough price for some qol upgrades.
