i did take classes on BSL (british sign language) a while back but i didnt use it enough so pretty much forgotten.....

It's definitely way tougher learning a second language as part of school rather than learning it organically as a second language at home.

I would say my Spanish is only slightly functional, whereas I can speak fluent Polish because I've spoken it at home since infancy.

I definitely want to spend some time in a Spanish speaking country to finally take my Spanish to the next level rather than just knowing some decontextualized words and phrases.
