I've finished the game, and I have a few complaints. First, the bosses are lacking in quantity. Since each Ghirahim fight is just slightly harder than the previous, I don't count those as separate fights. So in essence we have Ghirahim, Scaldera, Koloktos, Tantalus, Bilocyte, Moldarach, and Demise.
Ghirahim is a decent boss, but is only mildly challenging at the last stage. Scaldera is plain easy and honestly boring; run, drop bomb, throw bomb, slash. Rinse lather repeat. Koloktos is epic, and I truly loved the boss. Tantalus was decent, but I couldn't help but constantly think of how stupid he looked. He looked like a rejected character from Monsters' Inc rather than a fierce monster. Bilocyte was interesting, but such a rehashed idea that it was almost redundant. I did enjoy how the loftwing was incorporated in the fight, though. Moldarach was definitely the easiest and stupidest boss. I hadn't played the E3 demo, but it was honestly boring, stupid, and just plain simple. I took no damage, like in Scaldera and Ghirahim Part 1. Moldarach was so bad that they actually reuse him as an over world mini boss!
Demise is...well you know how I feel about demise. How can I sum up Demise? Anticlimactic?! That's about right. I took ONE hit on my first try, and on the second and third took no damage. Totally lame, especially since he's the epitome of darkness!
Next, some of the enemies just got boring. For the most part, the only enemies we deal with are Bokoblins, Keese, Gels, Deku Babas and Lizalfos. What?! Yes, there are some dungeon specific enemies like the armos and the beamos and kargoroks, but for the most part, all the enemies are rehashes of these main 5 enemies. It becomes awfully boring after a while; my least favorite was the Bokoblin, as they are too persistent. I spent TOO much time waiting for the bokoblins to move their swords.
Third, the songs. I don't want to spoil too much, but the songs you learn on the harp are so strange. They aren't catchy like the OoT or WW songs. Such a defining element of the games shouldn't be so weak...
Finally, the over usage of the A-Button. What was wrong with the B-Button that naturally felt like a trigger?! My wrist honestly hurt at times, and I really disliked this control choice.
There it is. My mini-review/rant about Skyward Sword.
