So I got bored and decided to give graphic making a shot.

I watched a tutorial and just decided to screw around with GIMP and here's what I got.

It's pretty basic, but I'm just going to practice before I start experimenting.

Keep at it. GIMP is surprisingly powerful for a free program.

Main thing is: Keep reading tutorials, keep trying to get better. Find what you like the most about people's sigs and either ask them how they made that effect, or just try to emulate it yourself. That's how you'll get better

This is my attempt at a Avatar but I should have made it a siggy.

I also have 2 question.

1) I need some brushes and gradients. Any suggestions?
2) I just puush the image, resize it in MS Paint and upload it to imgur. I'm sure there a better way to upload them.

They both look great :yes:

1) I got all my brushes here. If you need to know how to upload them to GIMP, don't hesitate to ask ^^
2) I do everything in GIMP. It's really got all the features you need. Have sizing issues? Click Image > Scale Image. If you only want to scale an individual layer, go Layer > Scale Layer. It's really quick, and easy. Upload it to imgur afterwards, and you're good to go

I don't what you do or where you get gradients, but here's a website where I got my brushes from. I got this website and this website. You can also get brushes and probably gradients from Deviantart. I get the brushes there mostly.

Looks good, Pan. To answer your questions...

1.) You can find a ****ton of brushes/gradients/fractals/C4Ds/renders/etc on deviantART. If you're looking for fonts, I highly recommend using a site called Dafont .
2.) I don't see why you resize it in MS Paint. You can adjust the size of your graphics by scaling it in GIMP no problem. I typically just upload my graphics to Puush and that's it. If I really have to, I may upload to Photobucket or Muzy.
