I want to hear people's take on the greatest music albums ever created. If you want to mention why, you're free to, but you don't have to.

I'll name a few. (In my opinion, the following albums are 10/10.)

Pink Floyd - Animals - Maybe I'm just crazy about progressive rock, but this album really just sounds great. Sometimes I listen to the whole thing without realizing that time is still passing, and it feels like I'm wasting time. Then I remember, it's Pink Floyd. There's no such thing as wasting time when it comes to listening to them. Especially this master piece.

Pink Floyd
- Wish You Were Here - It's one of those albums that are so good, you really can't describe them when it comes to words. It just, makes you feel better somehow.

Nirvana - In Utero - When I first listened to Nirvana, I thought all their good songs came out of Nevermind, but then I realized that most of my favorites were part of this album. There's something about the songs that pulls you in and sometimes makes you want to sing along. Or maybe, rock along?

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion - Animal Collective is not a band that you can just... like at first listen. But I guess I listen to them so much, that each time it gets better. That was the case with this album. I wondered why it had such great reviews when some of the songs didn't really satisfy me, but then they started growing on me. And the lyrics, just makes this album twice as good.

Radiohead - Kid A - My friends know I listen to a lot of Radiohead, and sometimes they ask me what my favorite album is by them. I kind of hesitate, because each of their albums has something great about it. But well, I'll go with Kid A because it just... sounds amazing. I've done my research, and even though I like Radiohead's Alternative/Grunge style of the 90s, their early 2000s experimental/electronic sounds just made them 200% better in my mind. Let me not forget Yorke's voice which is always pulling me in somehow and his writing is exceptional.

I won't go in great detail on why I love these albums, but whatever, here you go.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here: Its an album that I have litterally listen to 100s of times (really, I checked my iTunes) and it doesn't get old. My favourite parts would be the instrumental sections of Shine on you Crazy Diamond part 1 and 2. Pure awesome.

Pearl Jam - Ten:Now, I'm not a grunge fan (not anymore) but Ten by Pearl Jam is just great. Every song on this album as like a 9/10, with the exeption of Deep and Why Go, which are 8.5/10. Garden is my favourite. Amazing album, I recomend it.

Mers Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium: THis is one of those albums that you can't just listen to only one song, you have to listen to the whole thing. The vocals are great, and the guitarest brings out a whole new sound out of his guitar.

I didn't realize how many Prog fans we had here!!

Radiohead - OK Computer
Hands-down, the 2nd best album from the '90s.

Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile

Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth

Pink Floyd - Animals
Probably Pink Floyd's best... very highly underappreciated. Dogs is an amazing song.

Tool - Ænima
THIS is the #1 best from the '90s, in my opinion. :D

Radiohead - Kid A
One of Radiohead's best, if not their best. This album is just amazing

Pink Floyd - The Wall
I don't even think anything needs to be said here.

Tool - Lateralus
This is undoubtedly Tool's best. An amazing follow-up to their previous album, Ænima, and the best album from the '00s (in my opinion).

Foster The People - Torches
This album is very unique, and I personally don't think there is a single bad song on the album.

Radiohead - The Bends
This album is undoubtedly one of the greatest from the '90s, and of all time, for that matter. Radiohead never fails to impress.

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Once again, does anything need to be said?

Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns
This album is highly underappreciated amongst Linkin Park fans and general music listeners alike. This was a great multi-concept album and an interesting step forward on Linkin Park's part.

If I had to rank each 1-8, 1 being my favorite, and 8 being my least favorite of the eight. (Be aware that I still love them all and would definitely recommend them to anyone who hasn't heard them.)

1. 2112- Rush
2. Selling England By The Pound- Genesis
3. Hemispheres- Rush
4. Foxtrot- Genesis
5. Farewell to Kings- Rush
6. Moving Pictures- Rush
7. Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd
8. Dark Side of the Moon- Pink Floyd

My favorite albums change every once in awhile as I am constantly listening to new music. I'll choose my favorites right now.

1. Rush- Signals (don't hate)
2. Dream Theater- Awake
3. Iron Maiden- Iron Maiden
4. Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here
5. Dream Theater- Black Clouds & Silver Linings
6. Pink Floyd- Animals
7. Pearl Jam- Ten
8. Rush- A Farewell To Kings
9. Genesis- Selling England By The Pound
10. Radiohead- Kid A

Yes I do realize that 9/10 of these albums can be considered progressive rock, but that's just the way I like it.

Okay then lets admit to how uncultured i am when it comes to music. I'll just mention the personal top 5 which have helped shape my life.

1. Dark globe - Nostalgia for the future
2. Massive Attack - Mezzanine
3. My Dying Bride - Like Gods of the Sun
4. Savage Garden - Savage Garden
5. Meat Loaf: Bat Out of Hell 2: Back into Hell (Coincidentally this is my favourite album/cover art.)

I agree with many above. I love all the <3 for Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Tool, and Massive Attack (4 of my favorite bands BTW).
Here are my favorite albums:
10. The Fragile- Nine Inch Nails (please ditch HTDA and record new NIN!)
9. Turn on the Bright Lights- Interpol (our generation Joy Division until Carlos the bassist decided to leave and become a "scholar" WTF)
8. Demon Days- Gorillaz (still depressed about their so called "hiatus"- c'mon boys bury it already!)
7. Low by David Bowie (old man crush)
6. To Bring You My Love- PJ Harvey
5. Blue by Joni Mitchell
4. The Dreaming by Kate Bush (this woman is a creative genius- mime, singer, pianist, dancer, artist, she's everything)
3. Kid A and Amnesiac- Radiohead (agree with descriptions above and everything is in it's right place- hehe)
2. Vespertine- Bjork (I recommend listening to this album in it's entirety with someone you love- beautiful)
1. Boys for Pele- Tori Amos (my angry at boys anthem record, lol)

Sorry for the descriptions- I just wanted to explain why these are my favorites :)

Nirvana - In Utero - When I first listened to Nirvana, I thought all their good songs came out of Nevermind, but then I realized that most of my favorites were part of this album. There's something about the songs that pulls you in and sometimes makes you want to sing along. Or maybe, rock along?

Yes. In Utero is one of the greatest Punk Rock albums of all time. So much better than Nevermind. Butch Vig totally ruined Nevermind by overproducing every single aspect on it. Steve Albini made This record sound fantastic. In Utero has a more raw feel to it in not only the production but the songs themselves. "Milk It" is my favorite song by Nirvana.

You used Pink Floyd albums but didn't use Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall?

Some more serious Pink Floyd fans I have known consider those their worst albums. Not that that is a common thing, but I would probably agree. I am also not the biggest Pink Floyd fan though. sooooo

Pink Floyd: The Wall
It's just not possible for this album to get the level of praise it deserves. I bring a booklet of the lyrics of all of the songs wherever I go, and read them when I'm bored. They're just so well-written, powerful, emotional, and they tell a great story. Watch the movie based on it if you don't mind some disturbing imagery and the nipples of females.

Pink Floyd: The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
The only album that Syd Barrett worked on. While it doesn't hold a candle to The Wall it's just super fun to listen to.

Stolen Babies: There be Squabbles Ahead
The lead singer, Dominique, has a sexy voice. It's a great album in general (and their only one) but that makes it amazing.

Man Man: Life Fantastic
I like these guys's work. This album is a bit more dark and serious that their others. While it does feature some of my very favorite songs of theirs (Piranha's Club FTW) a few of them in the middle are forgettable. That's my only complaint.

Man Man: Six Demon Bag
Their best album, in my opinion. It's basically crazy party music with a hint of sophistication. It contains my absolute favorite song: Van Helsing Boombox.

Tubring: The Great Filter
I'm not entirely sure why I like this album and Tubring in general. All I know is that Glass Companion is like sex for my ears.

Super 8-bit Brothers: Brawl
The only thing that I should have to say is that 2600 Refugee is in it. Thirty seconds of that song got me into the band. I can't help myself but to play it right now.

The Beatles: Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
The songs on it are ear candy, especially Fixing A Hole, Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite, Lovely Rita, Within you Without you, and When I'm 64.

The Beatles: Beatles for Sale
This album retains the youthful fun factor that their early albums had but more mature and well composed.

Mischief Brew: The Stone Operation
Erik Peterson put a lot of emotion and charisma in this album. This album gets the adrenalin rushing.

Nirvana: From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah
This one takes some of my very favorite Nirvana songs-from all three of their studio albums-from live concerts, which gives it a unique sound that stands out from all of the studio albums I have.

That 1 Guy: The Moon is Disgusting
This guy deserves more attention. He invented his own instrument for Din's sake! Maybe this video will spark some interest.
