Ghost Windows

So, recently my computer has been acting up a lot. Occasionally, when I change my online status on Skype, change the desktop background, or do something in photoshop, I'll get a ghost imprint of what I clicked.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I can usually fix it by hibernation, but it's not 100% accuate.

Can you drag a window over it (like an eraser to a chalkboard) and it go away? If not, does the button sit over any window you drag over it (or under it rather).

To get rid of whatever is there goto Run and then run "tskill dwm".

Then go into your System Properties > Advanced > Performance (inside Advanced) > Settings... and uncheck Fade out menu items after clicking

See if that does the trick

Did you also enter "dwm" afterwards or just "tskill" by itself?

Both. Either way, unchecking the fade-out option fixed it.
