I will preface my response to this by saying that logical fallacies are bull**** and you shouldn't play mafia that way

so have a logical fallacy

I can't answer for his actions. I think last EOD was horse****, the fact that town slept is very awful, but there's a couple problems with your idea

1) It assumes funnier read the OP. no one has time for that anymore
2) It assumes funnier was here at EOD. No idea if he was too lazy to check but that's ok because you were too
3) It accuses me in a manner that I cannot defend.

I am town. I cannot explain why funnier did not meet your expectations.

Rest assured that, so long as I am in the game, town will not no-lynch again, even if it costs me my own life. (UNLESS ITS FINAL 4 THEN WE SLEEP OK OK)
1)funnier read the op. He's funnier, he probably read it like 6 times.
2)literally all funnier does is play mafia. He's always here at EOD.
3)I'm not allowed to make a case on something scummy here just because you're his replacement? Maybe I'll feel guilty about it, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't do it.

nah, you can make a case
but its a case that I can hardly defend against, making it an "easy" push

so, I'm basically the gay, good-at-mafia version of funnier, and reading the OP is for squares. But w/e, maybe he does that.

@Rubik is there a reason you aren't constantly pushing sunfan?
I can maybe iso funnier's d1 if I take a nap to recover all the energy that has been sapped from me at work today.

I think sunny is acting pretty defensive, but I might be too if I had to read a whole thread subbing into a mafia game only to have to have some jackass start a wagon on me first thing.

@Everyone: please lynch the sun fan so we can progress the game

Way to be prompt, Notifications. Also, if anyone was curious, I was going to RVS vote funnier6 for "coercing" me to join Mafia games again. Sigh....

Anyway, I haven't seen much from today, so I don't have any strong opinions or reads just yet. Just be mindful of the sarcasm in the RVS voting phase posts, @Moe the Moblin . If funnier used "thateth sort ofeth wordingeth" on Day 2, he would be instantly suspicious.

Ryu's first post. Just day 1 fluff really, not much to take here, although interestingly this post could be taken as slightly cautious on Ryu's part because he mentioned wanting to RVS vote but intentionally refraining due to serious discussion having already begun picking up at that time. A lot of people aren't afraid to make RVS votes even at this time, and if he really wanted to RVS funnier he could have done so instead of just mentioning it. Kinda reads to me like trying to avoid scrutiny by not placing a vote, instead finding another, safer way to include himself in the RVS shenanigans. This is reaching for sure, but just something I noticed.

Why do you find it annoying? Do you feel forced to post or something?
Not a bad question. NAI for sure, easy question for anyone to ask.

I don't think anyone is really being forced to contribute in order to comply with the 3 post minimum thing. You're not being forced to post walls of text or reply to every post you see or to post a reads list. Just being a little bit transparent can get someone to be like "wait a minute" and bring something up or share something to get a discussion going. If you're thinking "Oh crap, how can I post/contribute to this point so I don't look scummy or get modkilled," there's a small chance you might be Mafia. :)
Mido quoted this, saying it read to him like a way to mention a situation without mentioning the persons involved, thereby keeping their own hands clean if someone criticized the situation or easily being able to snake his way in if the situation grows. That's how I interpreted Mido's response, anyway. I don't necessarily agree, but I could see where he was coming from.

It's been a while since I've played on here, but I don't usually come up with reads or vote outside of the RVS phase Day 1 unless someone or something incredibly suspicious happens. Mostly being inquisitive to generate discussion and see what people are thinking in order to piece some stuff together for the next day once the info from the Night phase comes out. Night info to me is really handy.[/QUOTE]
Fair I suppose. Though he hasn't given many reads yet Day 2. What is the night information you got @Ryuken?

Ooooookay... Why do you say "it's not necessarily a hard part for a wolf to make?" What are you implying here?

A sort of pet peeve of mine here. It's nice to know that you have the same thoughts I do, but these kinds of responses make it sound like you're being "fed information." In other words, contributing your thoughts without actually contributing your own thoughts. If that makes any sense.

Case in point:

phoenix-document(a).gif

Moe is the the kind of person who likes to poke holes in a piece of paper and patch up some of the holes with another person's piece of paper. Yeah, I've never been good with metaphors, but basically, he doesn't elaborate much, meaning most of the time, one would have to guess what they're trying to say. Big no-no for me, especially with "not necessarily a hard part for wolf" post and the "like how good it looks on Minish" post. Don't make us fill in the blanks, and don't just use Mido's words as your own. What are some places where you don't quite mindmeld, for instance?

On that note, however, this is also why I'm hesitant to vote Moe, probably for a while. He played like this in the Hydra game on Bulba, and I haven't seen how he plays as scum.

You are definitely more funnier than funnier himself, that's for sure. :)

Why so sure, though?
Not a bad post. He questions Moe a bit and I like how he refrained from voting for Moe over a playstyle clash. Could be interpreted as playing it safe, but this post feels pretty genuine to me overall.

I'm not confused by the typo. I was just confused by how you were seemingly reading me as both Town and Scum at the same time. I've gotten a slightly better understanding of your playstyle now that you've elaborated slightly more, but I still find your read on me a bit weird.

I see. I'm used to seeing this sort of thing in a much more faster paced setting like IRC/Discord Mafia.
Or the LA Hydra game. ;)

I was staring at this for like 10 seconds and completely forgot about the theme of the game. This is your friendly reminder that sarcasm is hard on the internet. Especially when you miss the context that's staring you in the face every time you open this thread.
fluff

phoenix-pointing(a).gif

This totally sounds like something scum would say. Totally.

Memes aside, I don't think I've noticed anything out of the ordinary from the players I know who have posted here. Bit concerned about @leetic and @Link 182 , though, since I haven't seen much from them. @Doc has always taken a while to make posts, iirc (though come on, don't get yourself modkilled), and of course @Zelda18 's taking their time freshing up on forum Mafia.
To the ones I tagged, what are your thoughts about this day so far?

Hold It.

I looked back and my posts, and I never indicated leetic at any point in them. Nor did I mean to imply him in my response. I'm struggling to understand how you perceived my hypothetical example as a "roundabout way of addressing leetic and Zinnlav."
Pinging inactives, I like. NAI, but good.

HOWEVER, it's at this point that you really begin to feel the CWAC in Ryu's posts. It's super super easy for anyone to say they don't have any real reads on the active players and then ping the inactives in order to try and look like they're doing something. I see scum do it all the time; I also, however, see town do just as much.

In the second part of this post, Ryuken misunderstands what Mido was trying to say in response to Ryu's previous post. It's true he didn't mention leetic or Zinn in his post, which was exactly the point Mido was trying to make. Mido, unfortunately, didn't get the chance to respond to this post further since he subbed out. Not a big fan of this post.

I thought I made it clear when I was explaining my thoughts on Moe and tying that to my thoughts on your response as a non-example, but I guess I didn't.
What I was referring to here is how you quoted my thoughts and didn't say much beyond "Pretty much I don't have much to say... Pretty much I do what you do." That is what irked me because you answered by agreeing with one of my thoughts instead of elaborating on your own and showing how your own thoughts are similar to mine. An example would be something like this:

Doc and I had similar thoughts and we reached the same conclusion. Moe, on the other hand, stayed cryptic and didn't elaborate much on how his thoughts were similar to Mido's. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
Explaining a little bit of confusion on ZinnLav's part. Makes sense and I can get what he's trying to say. Fair post, nothing really eye catching about this one.

Alright, I guess one meme post before I sleep will do.

Aw, come on, let's not make fun of Light Theme users, okay?
phoenix-sheepish(a).gif

Rolls for charisma.
The last meme post before he slept. It did.

dark themes are bae

Gosh dang, I have a lot of catching up to do.
Yeah, it's been a hot minute. The past couple of days have been EXTREMELY busy with me spending time with family on Memorial Day and a lot of things happening at work and at home today. I apologize since I'm usually not kept away from the game for this long.
I'm gonna take time in the next hour or two to read through the thread a bit and reply to posts. Then I'll make another post with my reads. I'll respond to questions right away if you have any during this time I'm taking to catch up.
Explanation of inactivity. Can't say much here as I was inactive myself to this point due to being busy. I also like how Ryu delivered on his promise... almost

This post is weird considering the lack of scum reads in it, with the other three players being seemingly null. I kinda get it coming from his playstyle, but it still stuck out to me.

Could you elaborate on this and...

...this post? What is it you find scummy in my posts you mentioned?

I did explain that's usually how I play, though. I don't come out with reads list or wagon analysis until the following days.

I'm not totally sure about funnier being 0% chance town, but this does raise a good point. Why has today and D1 felt so weirdly low in activity?

Masons being confirmed and the low amount of activity from D2 aside from the top 5 posters (minus funnier cause being replaced) is giving me some weird feelings. Especially considering there was VERY little pushing for any wagon on D1, and even now, there hasn't been a strong wagon forming. Really not a whole lot of information to be gleamed from a wagon analysis (which the Mafia probably planned for), though I'm getting the feeling that one of the scum is being a bit inactive during the day.

Vote: ZinnLav

I've been pretty unsatisfied with the posts they've been making so far. Not a whole lot of insight or interactions with other players. Now they did say that they played similarly to me D1, but the way they worded their response irked me. (Yes, this is a hyperlink to a post because hyperlinks no longer are highlighted automatically to fit the forum theme for whatever reason. Might go complain and whine about this in the feedback thread). I've also noticed now that they never elaborated on their vote on FG, which was an action I found weird considering what they've said about their playstyle so far.

I'll get to my other reads tomorrow because I realize I need sleep, but this is my strongest suspicion.

Why vote for me now?
So here he gives one read. And it's... a fairly easy and rather safe one to make. Zinn's not in the clear, mind you, and I'll be ISOing him myself soon, but I don't like how Ryu stated several times during day one that his playstyle is to observe during day 1 and then come out with reads based on night info during day 2. For one thing, this post was almost 24 hours ago and he has yet to deliver on his other reads. For another, he hasn't said one word about the night when he was saying earlier that night activity is really helpful.

Overall, I'm not liking Ryu too much. He's had a couple of decent posts, but for the most part he hasn't done a whole lot. I find it a bit ironic that he accuses Zinn of being CWAC when Ryu himself has been largely doing the same thing, albeit with more words. The problem with this is that Ryu hasn't actually said or done anything specifically scummy perse, it's just that all of his posts are posts that easily could have been written by mafia, making it hard to come up with proper read on him. Basically, I wouldn't at all be surprised if he is scum, but I don't necessarily think he is. If it came down to it, I would vote him over someone else such as Moe or Funnygurl, or even Rubik, as they are all (Funnygurl for obvious reasons) fairly strong town leans for me atm.

More ISOs coming soonish.

Why specifically sunfan though, surely you have other wolf reads as well
Because the sooner funnier/thesunfan flips scum, the sooner people will be forced to actually acknowledge that we'll have to be the ones to put in the effort to win this game instead of just hoping for the usual suspects to save us.

I imagine the mafia team is probably pretty stacked this game.
