This is one of those things that we've all thought about, but since Nintendo themselves has no specific idea what lays outside Hyrule (until they need to develop it for a later game), there's no way we can decipher it either.

Christopher Columbus has nothing to do with Hyrule. Also, what is this about Hyrule being on Earth? There is nothing proving this. Stick to what we know instead of trying to prove a theory with more theories.
What do we know? Is the planet that Hyrule is on even governed by the same physics in our universe? Because if not then anything is possible. I'm going to stick with the thought that it would be based in this universe so it would have the same physics we have just to make my life easier...or harder...depends how you look at it.

Assuming the rules of the universe is the same as ours, let's have a race. I run forwards and you run backwards. Let's see who wins.

If the mass of their planet is smaller then ours of course their gravity will be different then ours so falls from heights that kill us might not kill them. Now being able to stop Gorons with just iron boots is completely impossible but we have to stretch the possibility of things seeing it a game. I'm just curious what the majority of the Zelda community thinks.

Well you do have the Wind Waker and Phantom hourglass games which after having Hyrule flooded you get a large world with islands and other objects in that ocean. It brings up the question is Hyrule a country or a continent or both?

Since Ganondorf in Windwaker talked about the winds. The hot desert winds of his home. Then the cool life giving winds of Hyrule. So in that term it was most definitely at least a country separate from the Gerudo or atleast that is how Ganondorf saw it.

Now in Spirit Tracks you have New Hyrule. A land colonized after the oceans began to recede back allowing more land to be had. One must ask is it in the same exact spot as the original Hyrule or was merely named after it a bit?

Now with reading about Termina being on the oppisite side of the planet hyrule is on would be very interesting. Given the stone tower that was created to do something with the goddesses. My memory is a bit foggy as I do this. Then the Goddesses flip the tower so to say making it lead to Hyrule the place of the triforce. So instead of being a curse they were leading it to the right place.

1. I have not played Spirit Tracks but are you sure it says in the game that New Hyrule was formed by receding waters? Secondly, Link and Tetra had to sail away from the great sea/ flooded Hyrule to find New Hyrule, so we know that New Hyrule exists in a different location from old Hyrule.

2. Termina could be on the other side of the "Earth" from Hyrule. But it is much more likely that it is in another dimension (like the game manual implies as it says something about an "New World" but I have not seen the actual quote) of the universe and that the existence of evidence of the Golden Goddesses in Termina is because they created that world like they did Hyrule's world.

I admit I do not remember everything clearly. As it has been quite awhile since I last played Phantom hourglass and Spirit Tracks. So I'm most definitely not a 100% accurate source on the material. I do want to say in one of the two games it mentioned the oceans receding though I could be wrong.

For the Termina one. Yeah it could easily be an alternate universe. Considering Link to the past made a Dark world and then you got Loryule. I just like the theory and the stone tower just adding a bit of interest to it.

I'm still part of Team Other Dimension. The number of similarities between Hurule and Termina are too much for them to be on the same planet.

As for the Stone Tower theory, the version I follow is that instead, when it was flipped over, they ended up in Terminian Hell, which is the Twinmold boss area, for their Hubris.

1. Okay.

2. I think that this article from the main site you will find quite interesting. It talks a lot about Ikana Kingdom but also has a few things in it that relate to Termina's relation to Hyrule. Ikana Hyrules Shadow
