But things like basketball and bowling is going way too far.
Bowling I agree on (or at least our definition of bowling: things like Bombchu Bowling from OoT would be cool though), and the same with Basketball (unless they do it like in MM with the Honey and Darling thing).

But either way, but I believe that mini games were meant for fun and games and that I believe that Nintendo is going to step it up and use Skyward Sword for hard-core gamers, and swaying away from targeting everyone.
I object. It's obvious that Nintendo's paying some much needed attention to us Hardcore gamers lately, what with games like SMG2 and NSMBW as well as ST. However, they'd be idiots to sway away entirely from the casual crowd. To be honest, I expect a balance between casual and core gaming: easy enough for the casual gamer to get through it, but hard enough for the core gamer to be satisfied.
And also, I do not agree with the point that just because they're paying attention to the core gamers that they'll just mostly ditch the mini games. What about ALttP back when the only audiance to target was the core crowd? There was no such thing as a "casual" gamer back then, you were either a gamer or you weren't. ALttP had a few mini games and so did LA. Heck, even in OoT/MM they had plenty of fun mini games.
The way I see it, they're going to try for a balance: not too many mini games yet not too few at the same time and to be honest, I think this will be achieved very easily. They've been doing it for a while (ever since OoT I believe).

Maybe some mini games from Twilight Princess, like that archery game, would be great in Skyward Sword, but we want a good, straight to the action game, without much distractions and mini games that have nothing to do with the game or sway you away from the "real" conflict within the game.
See there's the thing. Mini games are like sidequests (in fact they usually are). Either you love them or you hate them, and there's nothing stopping you from ignoring all the mini games if you want to, yet you don't get penalized for ignoring them: you just miss out on some fun times and a few goodies, but usually nothing major.
My point is that just because there are mini games it doesn't mean that it's the end of the world.

So now, yes to mini games, but not waaaaaay too much.
I agree whole heartedly on this.
