All Sports in Skyward Sword?

I disagree with this whole heartedly. TP, obviously aimed the older age crowd of the Zelda fanbase, had plenty of mini games and a lot of fun ones at that. Just because a game is supposed to be aimed at the more "mature" audiance or the "core" audiance doesn't mean it can't have awesome mini games.

Oops, forgot about TP :3

And I forgot about archery. Archery would be good in Skyward Sword. But things like basketball and bowling is going way too far.

But either way, but I believe that mini games were meant for fun and games and that I believe that Nintendo is going to step it up and use Skyward Sword for hard-core gamers, and swaying away from targeting everyone. Maybe some mini games from Twilight Princess, like that archery game, would be great in Skyward Sword, but we want a good, straight to the action game, without much distractions and mini games that have nothing to do with the game or sway you away from the "real" conflict within the game. So now, yes to mini games, but not waaaaaay too much.

I'm thinking now that I should change my thesis on this subject. I wouldn't mind them if they are mini-games like in all other Zelda games. I just don't want Nintendo to go too far and have things like airplanes, cycling, and rowing. There could be a mini-games that is a mix of bowling and basketball where would would have to angle the throw of your bomb in order to have it land in blow up a number of pins for points. I will be fine with them as long as they are not childish things that are mandatory for the storyline.

Bowling I agree on (or at least our definition of bowling: things like Bombchu Bowling from OoT would be cool though), and the same with Basketball (unless they do it like in MM with the Honey and Darling thing).

I object. It's obvious that Nintendo's paying some much needed attention to us Hardcore gamers lately, what with games like SMG2 and NSMBW as well as ST. However, they'd be idiots to sway away entirely from the casual crowd. To be honest, I expect a balance between casual and core gaming: easy enough for the casual gamer to get through it, but hard enough for the core gamer to be satisfied.

And also, I do not agree with the point that just because they're paying attention to the core gamers that they'll just mostly ditch the mini games. What about ALttP back when the only audiance to target was the core crowd? There was no such thing as a "casual" gamer back then, you were either a gamer or you weren't. ALttP had a few mini games and so did LA. Heck, even in OoT/MM they had plenty of fun mini games.

The way I see it, they're going to try for a balance: not too many mini games yet not too few at the same time and to be honest, I think this will be achieved very easily. They've been doing it for a while (ever since OoT I believe).

See there's the thing. Mini games are like sidequests (in fact they usually are). Either you love them or you hate them, and there's nothing stopping you from ignoring all the mini games if you want to, yet you don't get penalized for ignoring them: you just miss out on some fun times and a few goodies, but usually nothing major.

My point is that just because there are mini games it doesn't mean that it's the end of the world.

I agree whole heartedly on this.

I actually think that using the Wii Motion Plus for other things other than swordplay is a great idea. If they developed it for a reason, then it was to make wii games more fun and accurate to play. I really hope to see really fun minigames in the games!
