Sometimes a movie role comes along and there is only one actor who comes to mind. The casting is just so obvious nothing else makes sense.

1.) Angelina Jolie - Laura Croft

Her obvious lack of Englishness notwithstanding, is there anybody else? She's got the physique and the attitude.

2.) Geoffrey Rush - Captain Barbossa

I mean, look at em! Geoffrey Rush is one of the all time greats, but who knew he could pull off being a pirate so darn well?

3.) Kelsey Grammer - Beast

Obvious actor is obvious. He has the face. He has the voice. But only the acting chops of Mr. Grammer could effectively pull off the calm intellectualism and sophistry of a classic gentleman with the suppressed rage of an animalistic beast.

4.) Robert Downey Jr. - Tony Stark

RDJ is Iron Man. Slap that slick goatee on em and he's 1:1. Nevermind that RDJ excels at portraying the neurotic overachieving types, which also makes him a shoe-in for Sherlock despite his obvious lack of Englishness.

Jamie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin.

Or are these two the opposite of shoe-ins? Either way, they felt shoed in to their respective roles.

Eeww, what!?

By that logic Megan Fox was a good April O'Niel...

As for roles i think worked well for actors;

Danny DeVito as Penguin in Batman Returns.

Karl Urban as Judge Dredd in Dredd.

Hugo Weaving as V in V for Vendetta.
