A New Split in the Timeline?

After the final Tears of the Kingdom trailer, most people seem to be on board with the idea that time travel will play a huge role in the story with all signs pretty much pointing towards Zelda being stuck in the past.

We see her holding the Master Sword despite Link also wielding his destroyed one, suggesting there might be two Master Swords. One from the past and one from the present, which could possibly be why we never actually see the whole Master Sword while Zelda is holding it, as to give the illusion that it's the same broken Master Sword that we've seen Link holding in previous trailers.

There's also the presence of another Zelda-like woman who is dressed very similarly to Zelda and possesses the same exact tear that Zelda has, that she presumably uses during her fall to aid Link by lending him its power, meaning it is unlikely that this mysterious woman gives Zelda this tear at some point since Zelda has had it all along. Making it much more likely the same tear but from a different time, just like the Master Sword.

This woman also shares resemblance to the Zelda figure we've seen on the tapestry representing the battle against Calamity Ganon 10,000 years ago with some unknown hero who bears no resemblance to any Link we've seen before. She's even seen doing some devastating Iron Man-like repulsor blast from her hand, like the figure in the tapestry, while our Zelda raises her hand in the air and unleashes a huge flash of light.

Meaning it's possible that Zelda is actually 10,000 years into the past, before the Zonai disappeared, which is why she's seen interacting with them, and why the face reveal shot of the Zonai in the trailer also happens to have an unknown Rito and Gerudo standing behind it, as they're likely the champions who piloted the Divine Beasts 10,000 years ago, as depicted on the tapestry.

I've also found it strange how Ganondorf possesses one of the tears, as this would make him a piece of the game's overall main quest to collect all 7 tears, as is typical of the series and its use of sages. Does this mean Ganondorf isn't actually the game's final boss? If so, then maybe the true endgame is in the past against Calamity Ganon.

Which brings me to my main point, the timeline split. The biggest mystery of Breath of the Wild was the disappearance of the Zonai who we've long connected to the interlopers through mountains of evidence, coincidence, and parallels and while this may still be the case in terms of their overall place in the series' lore, I think it is now obvious that the Zonai disappeared in very much the same way that Ocarina of Time Link disappeared to go live out his childhood, forever splitting the timeline.

They may have fought off the Calamity once, but the state of Hyrule in Breath of the Wild did not paint a picture of victory, and even after Link's triumph in Breath of the Wild, Ganondorf still rises and not only destroys the one weapon capable of defeating him, but corrupts Link himself by permanently scarring his sword wielding arm.

So it's possible that the Zonai were fully aware that their efforts would be fruitless and only prolong the inevitable and therefore went back in time (removing themselves from the timeline) in some Doctor Strange caliber effort to use Link as their last line of defense to permanently defeat Ganon in the past.

But in doing so, have now created a brand new split in the timeline that can now be pinpointed by the state of the Master Sword, the presence of the Zonai, or in Breath of the Wild's case, their absence, which is immortalized by the disgraced Eighth Heroine for seemingly abandoning Hyrule, and most importantly, the defeat of Calamity Ganon either post Breath of the Wild's Calamity event, or pre Breath of the Wild's Calamity.

Do you guys think we'll see another timeline split and could this be Nintendo's way of getting themselves out of this whole Breath of the Wild saga that let's be real, will have defined Zelda for at least a decade until the next game comes out? Only time will tell, but in the meantime, let me know your thoughts.
