I think that the idea of allowing alt accounts should be looked into, but with restrictions put in place such as having it run through staff first probably with the expectation that staff can essentially nix any alt they want to. I heavily disagree with the idea of just freely allowing any alts...
As long as the opt-in idea is advertised to new members and not left in a thread somewhere hoping that they will find it (so as to be fair to new members), I'm fine with it.
Maybe we can come to a compromise and require like, 10 posts outside of mafia and roleplay. I juat think there are a lot of good posts in those sections that are currently being ignored by the current system.
Mafia and roleplay posts often are quality and creative posts. There are threads in sections that are counted right now where you literally can post one liners or videos that you didn't make yourself and it's considered normal.
What's wrong with getting the achievement if you are meeting the post count? It's not like mafia and role-play posts aren't productive to the conversations in the thread they are apart of. This just seems like pointless gate-keeping to me
Maybe up the required posts for ZD champion/legend to 40 or 50 posts, but allow the Mafia and Roleplay sections to count towards it. It makes it a little more difficult (the current post a day isn't that hard), but opens it up to more members of this forum who mostly post in the Mafia and...
Is there anyway we can make it so we can @ a user group and everybody in that group is sent a notification? That could be handy and make user groups more relevant
Can we get something like a "Most Replied to Thread" widget thing? Where threads with the most replies in the last 24 hours, probably outside of Forum Games, get highlighted?
I don't think it's wrong to be critical of the mods. Let's just admit it, the mods we have right now aren't incredibly active. I'm not saying the mods should be handing out infractions left and right, but I think maybe getting somebody whose activity is a little more stable and is willing to get...
Dislikes are almost sort of counterintuitive to having a positive community. This is at least one reason why they aren't used here and similarly aren't used by a certain social media giant known as facebook. Disliking someone's post simply doesn't encourage them to post more. This may not be an...
The plan rn, I believe, is to add one of two mods from ZI once the merge happens.
And if you were talking about the idea behind mod elections, I'd assume that we'd act as if the current mods aren't mods for the sake of the election and act like it's a clean slate, but probably keep them on as...
What would constitute members that are eligible to elect them? Can members that haven't been on on years vote for mods? How long would the election process take? What would constitute somebody that could be elected to be a mod?
Before we'd even be able to allow people to vote for mods these...
Is there anyway we could make it so there was an option to make social forums private so that only members of the social forums (and mods) could view them?
Since a few people could be dicks everybody else should be left in confusion? I think the fact that you know that people are going to ignore would know you would ignore them would help avoid that kind of scenario. And if people would freak out because of being ignored that scenario would end up...
I find it worse when somebody is ignoring me when they can see me then when they are ignoring me when they can't see me. I don't really see how it could create more drama.
Kind of (sort of, not really) going along with what Term said, is there anyway we could be notified when somebody ignores us? It would help avoid a lot of awkwardness.
Can the big emotes be re-sized when used in the shoutbox? They take up 5 or so lines of normal text and can be really obtrusive when people are having a conversation.
It seems that it's impossible to reply to threads using a 3DS, there seems to be an issue with the text boxes not being compatible with the keyboard software of the system's browser application. Not really sure if there's much that can be done with it, but just thought it was worth mentioning to...
I think there are better ways of getting people to post than keeping them from a major thing like the SB. Especially when that has proven to lead to people making spam posts before. I think having access to the SB with no added requirement than is already there could lead to people posting more...
Can we get this message updated to show the stuff it actually supports? Because I can confirm that at least Dailymotion doesn't work for it anymore and I'm guessing others don't either.
I really don't think having ebola as a points market gift is an appropriate thing. Glamorizing a disease which has killed people by making it a "gift" that people to give each other isn't cool.
People usually become frustrated when there is any change, it's basic human psychology. It's not wrong to question why something is done. This also isn't the place to talk to or punish those who insult the staff, that should be done by PM to those specific people. By posting here you made it...
Nobody is saying that there is any abuse of power or anything against the current staff. We're just stating our suggestions in the appropriate place. What is the point in a suggestions thread where we can't suggest stuff (big or small) without being told that by doing so we are in some way...
And they are a part of how the forum community expresses themselves. I think if the community wants one of them then it couldn't hurt to keep it and it gives the community a sense of feeling like they're attached to what goes on behind the scenes.
No, I'm sorry, I worded that poorly. I didn't mean for that to come out as an attack against you or anything. I now there were complaints about communication issues, I just didn't know that any of them specifically had to do with the Skype chat. I guess I'm just out of the loop.
I never cared at all how faithful to it they were, I'm just saying that since mandy isn't a part of it it's odd for her to act as if she knows exactly what it going on with it. For all we know she could have been fed false information. I just want to hear from somebody who is in it.
And secondly, how do any of us other than the people in the mod chat know what does and doesn't happen in it? This suggestion seems really out of the blue.
What if members from the forum helped make one? It would be a nice project and we have a lot of artistic members here that I'm sure would love to help.
Maybe the Mature Discussion forum could be renamed Serious Discussion and then there could be a Mature Discussion, like you mentioned, sub-forum within it
I've been wanting to change my username for awhile, because a lot of confusion happens because of a similarity to another member's username. The only problem is that I'm not sure if the username I plan on switching to is one I'd want to keep here forever. I'd love to be able to change mine now...
Is there anyway to make it so we could mark all of our subscribed threads as "read" without marking all of the threads on the forum as "read"? Because sometimes when I close the browser and then reopen it the threads that I read a minute ago will return to their "unread" state even though...
