I definitely agree that this would be a good idea. I like Min's suggestion of having one badge displayed and a numerical value of how many of those someone has. It'd be better visually, I think.
Some of the other icons do link to the page assiciated with it, the one for Twitch for example does work. These are definitely icons that are supposed to link to something, but some are just broken from what I've read. It seems people have found ways to solve the integration issues, at least on...
I've tried linking my twitter to my account here for a while now, and it has never worked. I always assumed I was doing something wrong, but it looks like this is a known issue for Xenforo. Trying to link a Discord also doesn't work in a similar fashion, none of the icons a member has links to...
I see, I see! Great stuff.
I think I care more about how long I've been here as a milestone than how much I posted.
I think the whole point of restricting certain sections from being counted ultimately falls into a debate on what constitues quality posts over posting just for quantity. The...
I'm wondering if there could be a way to isolate the post numbers from the sections that don't count in the post number listing that could be displayed separately, and then maybe do a combined total listing. I'm not sure if this can be setup though, and how difficult it would be if it can.
Does...
Anyway regarding post count, even though the counts don't attribute stuff from Mafia, Roleplay, or Forum Games, that doesn't mean the post history isn't available to sift through. You can click "find all content" for yourself or any user and look through their entire post history to get a feel...
Those threads technically have an unspoken double posting rule. If you post a song, we typically don't post another song 5 minutes later. It can be somewhat acceptable if there is a gap of a few hours and other people posted after you. Same applies to Things of your Mind.
I'm not really in favor of including Mafia posts to post counts. In the past we talked about maybe making mafia specific awards, amd that might be worth looking into. Perhaps reviving the Mafia Awards?
I also agree with the point that Blogs used to be a separate system, and hopefully at some...
I think this whole debate about the censor is a non-issue. We've already fixed most of the words being censored in a word that happens to contain a bad word, for example, wristwatch.
At some point maybe we can get features to make censorship optional, like before, but it seems that isn't...
I disagree with this, Mafia games tend to consist of thousands of posts, each player can average anywhere from 50 to 100 or more posts easily. I just don't feel like a necessary part of the game should count towards a reward system that is meant to encourage posts in other areas of the Forums.
I like the idea of the welcome message addressing the 5 post requirement at the very least. We've had enough new members join to play Mafia for at least that.
Idk if it's just me, but that new reaction emote looks blurry compared to the others. I like it, but can we get it so that it isn't blurry? (Or is this just an issue for me?)
I'm in agreement regarding the GKAs. The announcement states they are being skipped:
I don't see how the previous year's activity is any different than activity in previous years were we did hold them. I could see maybe cutting some catagories out to ease the load if it's an issue, but skipping...
I don't know about last month, but if that's true... like idk what to say really. It can't take that long to choose a newer featured thread for the month, right? I get there are a lot of things that take priority over an Internet Forum, but I'd like to think it can't take that much time to...
It irks me that the featured Threads and Blogs aren't updated frequently enough. Like after E3 we should have had a featured thread about BotW 2 but all last month we had sheikah's thread about the sequel going full sci-fi but it was written in April, before E3.
Also, we still don't have any...
They still haven't fixed the log in issue with IPB on the ZI Forum, so I'm assuming maybe we'll be keeping Xenoforo. But yeah, I don't think we should expect anything just yet, so I'm just going with the flow.
Maybe apply some sort of feature according to a member's posting habits? Threads that might interest them using their recent post history could be listed. For example, I post in the Zelda Theory section a lot. According to my post history a list of threads in that section that might interest me...
That's true, but this is a forum, not a perfect democracy. The members definitely should have a word in forum affairs, and have an equal opinion in things. Yeah, voting for staff could work, for awhile it might work. But do you honestely think it'll always work? When we're gone, if this...
I personally don't like the idea of Mod elections. I can see is eventually turning more into vote for your friend rather than vote for the best candidate for the job, as others have stated is a problem they see too. If we were to do this it should be small scale, like hold elections for just one...
That is a good idea, thanks for explaining.
Considering not too many forum members actually check the main site, and actually openly admit it, it might not work.
I just noticed there is an entire section dedicated to the mailbag. I don't think it's a bad idea, I'm just wondering why we made it? Will more threads besides the question thread be encouraged to be made? I just don't see the point of an entire section unless it's expanded to have more than one...
Oh, ok. Well than I'd say make it a Sub-forum in the General Gaming section. I wouldn't really say make a seperate one for Zelda in World of Zelda, people could just use the sub-forum in general gaming for Zelda games as well.
I'd say merge World of Pokemon as a sub-forum in the general gaming section.
We could accomplish this by just making a thread and adding it as a sticky. A game query thread, and subsequently a zelda themed one for World of Zelda as well.
Matt, I think there is a certain point were things can go too far in one direction. I personally think the forum is ok as is, it's not heavily condensed, yet not heavily divided and sub-divided either. Going with your idea of dedicating sub-sections for particular games is too exterme for a...
The current ones are only about a year old. The ones prior had been stickied for atleast two, or three years. We could redo them, but would it really even benefit that section? There are still some newer posts being made in those particular threads, keeping that in mind, I'd say we should...
Well here is the thing, a lot of these features are no longer available to download because they are exploiting glitches and stuff. Changing your own username isn't something I think the staff would want to promote, that is why the description of how to do it menetions “do this in an incognito...
You can say that again bro, drama filled posts all around the forum by both sides of the recent schism, of course I guess it was bound to explode eventually.
My thoughts. I wish we all could just get along again, all this fighting has, at this point, become childish on both sides.
It should be there just in case somebody wants to use it (who knows, somebody might like it and want to use it. You have to atleast hold that “what if” scenario in regard before just deleting stuff).
There has been some talk recently that SB issues aren't handled fast enough. To remedy this I was thinking maybe we should promote someone to just handle SB issues, either that or we bring back the SB report option like we had before the switch to Xenforo.
