Uh, no, it's a very real Skype chat group. And I don't blame them for everything, in fact in this very thread I brought up other issues I had multiple times. I do think you and that chat have done more harm than good lately though for ZD.
So it's just my "group". Your definition of "compromise" is blame everything on a fictitious group.
Also, idk, creeping out people in the SB with your "hypersexual" nonsense, harassing members like Beauts who don't want to hear that stuff. Spammy posts, abusing the report function etc.
I for one think the distinction between a 'tech' admin and otherwise is silly. It's just fighting over meaningless semantics since they have all the same perms (and tech admins can give themselves perms so taking way mod perms is equally pointless).
Why are we deleting posts?
"...but I do think that for almost all cases for a message board, the best course of action is no action." - Mases, 2016.
He doesn't want you guys to mod!
Also, I am somehow still able to ban myself from the SB, so my permissions STILL aren't fixed. I don't understand how someone can screw up permissions this badly. It's a simple operation, but Locke can take a simple task and somehow break reality and do things that shouldn't even be possible.
@Mases, @Locke etc, hell even @Matt, how many members complaining about something does it take until you all figure out that it is a problem?
So the 7 or so staff members all resigning under Locke and our current system status quo are just conveniently delusional? The site activity is dropping...
If a mod asks you to stop, just stop. That's all it takes. We never ban without warning unless it's extremely serious. Yes, we'll try to document warnings better but honestly we shouldn't have to. Stop means stop.
And last time was after you had already been banned numerous times for the exact...
No offense, but I think the line is obvious.
Plus, it's not like we ban you on the spot for crossing it. We always tell the member to stop before hand and give them a chance to change the conversation. When a mod tells you to stop, then there is your line. If you do it again you have no right...
Yes, there is. In every member's profile there is a list of infractions and ban history. The issue is the SB is a different system and thus not automatically logged like on the forums. As Jimmy mentioned we will try and start using the system for SB warnings as well to make it easier though...
Rather than being vague, examples of people not being infracted or inconsistent enforcement would be nice.
We also do have a clear set of rules which are updated regularly: http://zeldadungeon.net/forum/threads/dungeon-gaming-forum-rules.50340/
We as a staff always discuss bans and infractions. That includes the Shoutbox. So no we don't individually decide on the fly.
Admins are also working on letting mods be able to unban in the Shoutbox as well so we don't have to wait for an Admin to do it.
I do think that a clear length of ban...
Okay, so I know this is the forum suggestions thread, but I wonder who would I talk to about issues on the main site? Namely I noticed some issues on the Majora's Mask text walkthrough that I think really need to be addressed. Namely missing info, as well as some info that could use clearing up...
Last night showed that Sir Quaffler has no business being a mod. He went on a personal vendetta and infracted people he didn't like for trivial and ridiculous reasons. He needs to have his ranked revoked as he has shown he is not capable of handling the responsibilities needed for a moderator.
Hell no. MD is most of the reason I even bother coming on here anymore. It's a good sub forum, for the people it bothers so much; just ignore it. I think you can even request to have permissions to it taken away if it bothers you.
Either way, outside of the debacle in the orgasm thread, there...
It's not people airing their grievances that I find a big issue, it's the fact that it's full of people saying they want/plan to kill themselves that I think it becomes really inappropriate. I agree maybe a different name would help, who knows though.
Maybe merge it with Things on Your Mind? I am not sure that would help, I just feel that those kinds of posts aren't a very good thing to have posted constantly and should be discouraged. Obviously if the person wants help they can PM someone but the level of suicidal posts is staggering.
I think the depressing thread should be locked/deleted. It seems to me to be a place for people to post suicidal ramblings, not sure that's really appropriate for the site.
The ranking system is a great way to add incentive to posters to post high quality posts and be rewarded. I propose we add a few more ranks. Here is my suggestion for the new ranking system:
Commander Rank
Sub-commander Rank
Lieutenant Commander Rank
Jr. Lieutenant Commander Rank
Noble Rank...
