Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

The former is really easy to work around, though. Badly damaged weapons always break 4 hits after the notice that they're badly damaged. You can time your attacks like that, or you can just throw it.

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

It's not that hard to learn where stuff is on the map. Plus you get map stamps to remind you of stuff like that. The coliseum always has a stock of flame blades that restock every blood moon. There's also lots of fixed altars throughout the word for elemental weapons. Hyrule Castle has a pretty...

How do you get punished for using it when you can just go get another one? I'm attached to royal broadswords cuz they look cool, that's why I carry like 10 of them at all times. Hardly call it a punishment to make use of your resources.

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

Extending durability I wouldn't really have a problem with, so long as it doesn't make having durability pointless in the first place. As for the weapon system itself, what I feel would improve it is more weapon types. Rather than limiting to 4 categories (3 melee and 1 long range) and just have...

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

If I get long throw, I just long throw the weapon away. :right: Or I'll hold onto it until I find something better and use it as fodder to beat something up.

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

That's assuming it's a fixed item in the overworld, one that will still be there if you haven't touched it yet. Or if it's from a chest. But dropped weapons will vanish if you reload, so you'd have to save before actually engaging the monster holding it and then you'd have to defeat them again...

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

I have never felt the need to repair or forge weapons in BotW, ever. It kind of defeats the purpose of the system. If you know where weapons are, you can just restock with every blood moon, and you can still be successful just by grabbing whatever enemies drop when you defeat them; assuming you...

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

Are you talking about the one next to the stable outside the lost woods? That ones always a pain for me too but there’s actually a set number of hits that’s usually able to get it over. I don’t remember off the top of my head but it should be around 5-7 hits with a one handed sword. You can...

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

Uh... no it doesn't. Unless you're thinking of the royal guard claymore. Royal Guard weapons are designed to be glass cannons. Royal weapons have the best durability in the game, along with savage lynel weapons.

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

Not really. You can use spin attacks to send them flying off cliffs, for example. I just did that to a gold bokoblin yesterday. Using the physics to your advantage never stops.

Breath of the Wild Do you like BotW’s durability mechanic?

I've never had an issue with it. I kind of enjoy the strategy and the resource management. It also encourages thinking creatively with the physics engine to succeed in fights, which is one of the game's strongest points. I understand others not liking it, but theres nothing wrong with it...
