Bowsette, I think a lot of your arguments come from the fact that Nintendo prioritizes gameplay over story. If it was a story-based medium, it would probably be a different story, pun not intended.

Yeah that's the other thing, it would have to have a slightly more serious tone than the Mario movie, and anyting Illumination has made. It could still have a mostly light, goofy tone with some more serious plot points tho, think Wind Waker.

It's a fairly believable rumor, sure, but it's also a pretty easy one to fake.
