Not uber important but it's interesting, nonetheless.
^I'm asking if it's possible that they made such a point to mention that the HoM DIDN'T have a hat could have possibly been because having a hatless hero was so strange?
^Pinecove is right, all the knights wear the tunic. And Link puts on the tunic so that the knights don't suspect him when he tries to sneak out.
Of course they don't suspect him because all of them wear that same tunic.
Now they all likely do wear the tunic because of TWW Link, but we're not...
Remember, the 100 years quote was Nintendo of America. I imagine (at the way it looks now) it might be longer than 100 years.
