Joe looks up at the radio tower, "What the... that just looks like trouble." He didn't recognize the symbol, but he'd seen enough instances of the Plasma and Rocket logos to be wary of ominous groups with weird logos.

Joe looks outside in surprise. He rushes out to see a random parade going through the center of town with a Mantine balloon. Bit of a surprise, especially so soon after the Diglett, but whatever. He buys some cotton candy and returns to the group.

"Don't say things like that," Joe suggests, "It's just asking for life to show up and prove you wrong."

Joe spies the bag and nods, impressed. He wasn't a huge fan of them - the inhumane fashion from which they were made, etc - but he knew rare candies did wonders. Finishing up at the desk, he walks to the group, "So... tower I guess?" he asks, a little nervous.

"I never bothered with haunted places," Joe admits to the group, "Never liked 'em. Always a little too creepy, a little too quiet. Never wanted to take the chance with them," he turns towards the Pokemon Center, "We can check it out after, but let's take a quick stop-off over here first."

"Lavender town sounds fine," Joe agrees, "Let's get going then. I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready to get out of here."

"Well, uh, I guess to figure out where the nearest Pokemon center is," Joe suggests, "Back to Celadon maybe?"

It had been almost a year, and this thing had yet to die. Over time, the rest had fallen. Bob had been taken down by a Magnitude. Rasul had been crushed by falling rocks. In the ensuing chaos of the battle, Saffron City had been all but destroyed. Even Sabrina had fallen to the beast, her...

The Digglett growled, then used Bulldoze, knocking some of the Pokemon back, including Bob. Joe called him back and sent out Lily, "Use Strength!" he calls to her, "Move that mountain!"

"What's wrong with using normal pokemon? They're not exactly weak to ground."

"And he's also an electric type. Advantage: Diglett. Besides, Bob isn't exactly a climbing Pokemon, but look at him," the Torterra flings his leaves at the Diglett, scratching its hide.

"Koll!" Joe calls to him, "Why the hell are you using an electric type? Just asking," he sends Bob out to use razor leaf.

Joe grinned when he saw it, "This is gonna be fun," he pulls out a Pokeball and proceeds to call on Joe, his Torterra. The creature hits the ground with a mighty roar and eyeballs his 1100 foot tall opponent.

A couple of hours later, the crew arrived in Saffron City. Joe smiles as he approaches the city. He'd been here once before, only briefly, and had enjoyed it immensely. He was glad to be back. He spied the Pokemon Center and gestures to the crew, "You guys wanna head over there now, or want to...

"Agreed," Joe told her, "We're not that far anyways."

"I, too, want to become a gym leader," Joe explained, "I became good friends with a gym leader back in Sinnoh - Gardenia, our grass-type gym leader. I'll challenge gym leaders, but more for training than to actually earn a way to the Plateau - not that that would be a bad thing of course."

Joe stands up and recalls his Pokemon, "Let's-a go then," he finished his lemonade and tosses it in a trash bin

Joe consults his map, "That sounds about right."

"Yeah, but you can do that literally anywhere. There's a gym here, there's a gym in Cerulean, heck, there's a gym in Viridian. But we can stop by the gyms for badge collecting if y'all want to."

"I say," Joe decided, "That we start by going to Cerulean City. There's a man there - Bills his name - who I have a message for from Sinnoh," he told the group, "Unless any of you have better ideas of course."

Joe extends his hand to Expo as well, "Nice to meet you, Expo," he looks at the group, "Looks like this is the group. Shall we?"

Joe sighed, "Yes, they're comfortable," he was pretty sure that wasn't what the question was, but he wasn't gonna push it.

"Think I'm what?" Joe asks, confused. He knows Koll's talking to the Cubone, but can't make out what the 'mon is saying.

"S'all good," he told her, "Welcome to the crew."

Joe smiles, "Narumi, nice to meet you!" he shakes her hand as well, "And that leaves one left to show up. Ah..." he checked the notes app on his Poketch, "Expo is his name."

Joe takes it, "Thanks," he slips it inside his Pokedex and offers his hand to the only person in the group who had yet to take it, Koll."

He sticks his hand out to her, "Joe Maisch. Nice to meet ya."

Joe raises an arm to her, "And you'd be?"

Joe stops by the bench, "Afternoon gents. You Koll and Garret?" he hadn't noticed Garret at first, but when he did it was very obvious who it was. Definitely from Unova. You could tell.

Joe notices Koll and looks him up and down. He fit the description of one of em. "C'mon bud," he taps Joe and starts walking towards Koll
