Finally got Pretendo (private servers) set up on the WiiU today and it totally reminded me of this now that I can once again send bottles to other Links. If you haven't tried hooking up Pretendo, it's absolutely worth it.
Maybe nutria. Nutria tacos to be specific. I also ate a cadis fly larva straight out the shell, that was nasty. Simmering birch sap on the stove right now, that's kind of weird but it's tasty.
I'm a big fan of the evil villain. Every villain is just a misunderstood victim of circumstance these days and I'm pretty sick of all the supposed nuance. I'd take Sidious, Sauron, or Satan any day as my bad guy.
This is a good question. I don't really have an answer to it but it's a good prompt to consider.
Edit: Monster Maze is a decent Zelda YouTuber and he's got a video about this subject.
From Seven Brides for Seven Brothers: Milly, Dorcas, Ruth, Martha, Liza, Sarah, and Alice in the grand tradition of NPCs group names a la the Zelda series (John, Paul, George, and Ringo; Beth, Amy, Joelle, and Meg).
If I'm remembering right (and I might not be) Samasa Desert and Yarna Desert are the only deserts in which no people live (plenty of bulblins in TP but I have no reason to believe they're specially adapted to inhospitable deserts). I was going to say Samasa Desert but then I looked it up and...
Who the heck else voted for the maku tree?! High five! A few honorable mentions...
Bomb Flowers: these blooming boomers have been close to my heart ever since ocarina of time.
Faron Giants: The trees surrounding the exterior of the forest temple in Twilight Princess as well as the temple...
Aside from the dad joke in the title, I'd like to hear some theories and answers regarding Stone Tower Temple from Majora's Mask. The transformation mask associated with it isn't like the transformation masks associated with the other temples. Does the Giants mask have anything to do with the...
What the heck happened to Zelda special edition gold? Not even my BotW Master Edition cart is gold! It used to be something really special about Zelda and now Nintendo seems to have forgotten about it. The last one I can think of is probably the Skyward Sword 25th anniversary box which...
They do produce the truest blacks (oh no!) Or at least until the advent of OLEDs which are at least close if not better. The point is though, I can still play all of my old consoles on them. Duck Hunt is hooked up right now. Retro consoles were also made for CRTs so the geometry is perfectly...
For while the supreme power of the Triforce was created by gods, all of its power can never be wielded by one. Knowing this power was her last and only hope, the goddess gave up her divine powers and her immortal form.
-An Excerpt from Skyward Sword
NO! Dude, they ran alongside moblins all the way through A Link Between Worlds! We haven't seen much implementation of boomerang wielding enemies in the 3D games and it's definitely time for them to make a comeback. Aquamentus had his chance, the day of Goriya is upon us!
Snowpeak Ruins. You mean I get to play an actual linear story while I complete a dungeon?! I have rarely gotten tired of a typical Zelda dungeon no matter the length but even though Snowpeak Ruins didn't have my favorite layout, puzzles, or theme, it was probably the most coherent dungeon I can...
Neither, honestly. My favorite platformers are mostly 2D but most platformers are 2D so I don't think that's really reflective of my preferences. I will say that 2D platformer controls tend to be tighter which means the levels/challenges have smaller margins for success.
So there's a magical fog that separated the southwest sea from the northwest sea. Link needs to find a map that shows him the secret way through the fog which you can see mapped on the left side of the screen. The area between between the jetties in the middle/bottom of the northwest sea...
Not sure I'll play through it again but work has been soooo slow. Haven't beaten it since release. It still seems to fall into that place where the controls are pretty poor because of the restrictions but they also flow really well. Kind of like Skyward Sword. And beneath the wonky controls is a...
Quick thoughts. If the Boss Remains are transformation masks, why don't the moon children transform when they wear them? The same with Majora's Mask, the Skull Kid doesn't turn into Majora's Wrath, the mask sheds him. Transformation masks also don't necessarily control the wearer by their...
I finally finished A Link to the Past for the first time today and the end credits really got me thinking: hyrulian dwarves? It looks like they were in Ancient Stone Tablets as well, does anybody have any lore on them from there? I can't tell if they have pointed ears or not. Looks like this...
First time ever playing all the way through A Link to the Past (via ALttP+FS). I've played the entire game so far as it was originally meant to be played but I'm in Ganon's Tower right now and I'm REALLY tempted to use save states. How do you all feel about save states?
Most technology that we encounter in our everyday lives is implemented for the sake of convenience often minimizes time spent on each activity, sometimes removing us entirely from whole facets of interaction with a given task or object. In the contemporary western world, our lives are built on...
But also I'm almost through ALttP (first time ever!) and I came across a use of the block puzzle I don't ever recall seeing before. You fall through the ceiling and land here where there are two pushable blocks right before a T junction. Now, you'll need to go to the right to progress, but one...
Honestly, I've always been really excited to have sealed copies of Ocarina of Time + Master Quest and Zelda Collector's Edition for the GameCube. I'm blown away how little they're worth considering they're exclusive Zelda products from two decades ago but I remember going to great pains to get them.
