    The Hyrule Historia Timeline Explanation

I hate what Nintendo did with the timeline in Hyrule Historia. I don't mind the Third Split too much, but the placement was horrible. But the placement of Four Swords Adventures was a complete cop-out move for them. It could be so much deeper to keep it between Four Swords and Ocarina of Time...

Spoiler Goddess of the Sand: Who is She?

I'm kind of kidding about this, but maybe SS:Zelda/Hylia could be the Goddess of Sand? If Groose founded the Gerudo, as all appearances suggest, then perhaps he took his obsession of Zelda with him to the desert. Not to say that she actually is a sand god, but that he worshiped her, took her...

    My Zelda Timeline

I'm not advocating for LeetFox's theory, but in the spirit of disliking Hyrule Historia and its tendency to kill all forms of theorizing and debate, Four Swords Adventures can go before Ocarina of Time, despite Ganon being in it. I can explain if you'd like.

    Sacred Realm in Skyward Sword?

If that's the case, what happens if two people enter it? Is it like having two architects inside a dream in Inception? The only confirmed appearances of the Sacred Realm have looked like Hyrule. No matter what Ganon wished, it's the best we have to go off for now.

    Gap Between the Dimensions

I just came across this in Ocarina of Time, and I never really thought about it before. Ganondorf tells Link that he is banishing his worthless Phantom Ganon to the gap between the dimensions. Does anyone know what this is? Is it between Hyrule and the Sacred Realm, Hyrule and Termina, or...

The Hero of Time & the Hero's Shade

You have a good point, Locke. I hadn't looked at it that way. Then you think wrong. So does Hyrule Historia kill all theorizing? I have said time and again that I know *officially* the Hero's Shade is OoT:Link. I'm just tossing around a what-if scenario like fans used to be free to do.

Majora's Mask + Hollow Earth Theory Concept

I think more likely, Hyrule exists in a flat earth. Hyrule is on one side, and Termina is on the other. That is why they are mirrors of each other. When Link fell into Termina, he actually fell through the ground and "popped out" on the other side of the world.

    Sacred Realm in Skyward Sword?

I think the Silent Realm is the Sacred Realm. Following Link's demise in Ocarina of Time, the sages confine Ganondorf in the Sacred Realm with the Triforce. By the time of A Link to the Past, his evil has corrupted the Sacred Realm into the Dark World. When Link visits the Dark World, it is...

The Hero of Time & the Hero's Shade

Maybe I shouldn't come back to this after it being buried a few days, but I've been away. Anyway, I've been playing Ocarina of Time 3D: Master Quest lately, and I just came to the point where Link enters the Sacred Realm for the first time after pulling out the Master Sword. Rauru tells Link...

    Spoiler Impa

Really? I liked Malladus, personally. I saw him as kind of a spiritual successor of Ganon (perhaps even the same spirit with a new name?). He was like Ganon but not, all at the same time. Anyway, he's not coming back. I personally hope to see a more diabolical villain. This article makes a good...

    Oracle Games

On the reincarnation of Twinrova, this is one of those places where Hyrule Historia really screws itself over. The same problem exists for Volvagia, who is suddenly alive again in The Adventure of Link. Rather than having Link die in the final battle with Ganondorf, they should have just had...

Old Zelda Titles in the 3DS EShop?

There's no logical reason not to release them. The games are rare and pricey now, and Nintendo doesn't make any money off of them. They could only stand to gain from porting them over. They would be really stupid to hold onto them.

Should Something Drastic Happen in Zelda?

I want to see something where Link becomes mortally wounded early into the game or about halfway through and has to heal for a while. Or else, he is captured by the villain and needs to be rescued. Anyway, during this time of absence, you play as Zelda and have an arsenal of magic (and maybe...

The Hero of Time Defeated Timeline Split - Major Flaw

If the Sacred Realm is supposed to be the realm of the goddesses and a glorified version of Hyrule, why doesn't Ganondorf want to stay there? Then he could avoid a war with Hyrule altogether and rule over his own universe.

Spoiler The "Ocarina of Time" Time Paradox Theory

I'm not sure what iDarkLink meant, but I think it goes like this. Link returns to the past. He goes searching for Navi but ends up getting lost instead. Then he saves Termina and returns to Hyrule. He grows up, marries Malon, and they move south into the Lost Woods area to found Ordon Village...

The Hero of Time & the Hero's Shade

Thanks for the thoughts. I was just tossing around ideas. I know canonically it's not true, but I don't think that theorizing should die because Nintendo published the Zelda Bible. We have official records of all sorts of things in history, but that doesn't stop people from asking "What if?"...

Spoiler But They're Little....Zelda And Link:Love in Ways You Dont Think.

I don't know either way, but we can't superimpose the hero mandate on Ocarina of Time. It came out back when the timeline was just barely being discussed. I really doubt the creators were thinking ahead to Skyward Sword and the reincarnation prophecy when they fashioned Link and Zelda's...

The Hero of Time & the Hero's Shade

There have been many threads started about the Hero's Shade, but I have yet to see one that takes this approach. If this has been posted before, I am sorry. I haven't been around very long. In Hyrule Historia, it is said that the Hero's Shade is the spirit of the Hero of Time. It does say...

    Another Hero Shade Thought

I'm not assuming anything. Obviously it's full of speculation—that's exactly what I was doing: speculating. I also noted that SS:Link is never referred to as "Hero of Time" in Skyward Sword. What I did say is that he fits the bill better than OoT:Link. Besides, I technically *can* assume...

Why Can't the Kokiri Children Leave the Deku Forest?

It could be like the children of Neverland, where once they leave, they begin to grow up. Or it could be like the Elves of The Lord of the Rings lore, who never age but can be killed or die from extreme grief. If it is the first, then they grow up once they leave the forest. If it is the...

    Another Hero Shade Thought

Here's an idea. The Hero's Shade is the spirit of the Hero of Time, but not the Link from Ocarina of Time. Though he is never referred to as "Hero of Time" in Skyward Sword, that Link is much more deserving of the title. He willingly transcends time to defeat Demise a thousand years in the...

The Hero of Time Defeated Timeline Split - Major Flaw

Perhaps the Triforce only split after Ganondorf left the Sacred Realm. If he managed to kill Link within the Sacred Realm, there would be no one with the courage to possess the Triforce of Courage. Without a balance of persons, the Triforce never split and the entire thing went to Ganondorf. Yet...

    My Fake Timeline.

Hm it's interesting. I like this discussion of alternate timelines though. I think Hyrule Historia did a lot of damage to the fan community because it killed a lot of timeline debates. Death Sword & Stallord Theories

Hyrule Historia Book: A Bunch of Bull?

Spoiler Where is the Snow ?

The snow stages in Spirit Tracks were the best! :D Axle is dead-on with his idea. It seems that Nintendo intentionally avoided every obvious connection they could between Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess except for the province names. Why is that? It makes no sense. Ghirahim could be the...

    Spoiler Zoras Aren't Mentioned Anywhere!

I think the Zoras originally lived in Labrynna but migrated to Hyrule after their waters were poisoned by Veran in Oracle of Ages. They followed their evil cousins (the River Zora/Zolas) to Hyrule, settled there sometime in the decades prior to Ocarina of Time, and then migrated back at King...

    Spoiler Building the Surface

    Shiekah, Gerudo, and Twili

I agree. That part of the game really pissed me off. Not only the way they handled the Sheikah, but also the great opportunity they had to link Ghirahim to the Interlopers. I still think such a connection exists, but of course it would be WAY too much story to put into a Zelda title to draw that...

Discussion #015: Are All the Skull Kid's the Same?

I think that after the Child ending of Ocarina of Time, Humans expanded their territory into the now-Ordon Province. With the Great Deku Tree dead but no Sprout planted, the Kokiri began to deteriorate. That, plus the encroaching Humans, scared the Kokiri, so they turned to Skull Kid for...

The Kokiri (Can They Die from Ageing)

I think that the Greak Deku Tree only turned the Kikwi into Kokiri so that Link could grow up among people who looked like him. Lake Hylia Skyloft Crater?

I really doubt Hylia and Floria are the same. It makes more sense that there are multiple lakes that come and go. Real-world geography changes drastically over time, with lakes and rivers constantly coming and going (on time scales of hundreds of years). As for the City in the Sky being...

    Spoiler Impa

Ganondorf being reincarnated for Four Swords Adventures is a dumb idea. I think all it says is that Nintendo lacks the creativity to build extensive 'tween-game stories. Ganondorf from FSA can easily be the same as Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time. As for Impa, it seems likely that she is a...

Spoiler Radical Possibility-Ghirahim and Dark Link Connected Somehow?

I don't think Ghirahim is strictly the spirit of the Dark Master Sword. I think he was a separate Demon entity on his own before becoming the Dark Master Sword, but then later put all of his Life Force into becoming Demise's blade. Hylia was able to overpower Demise before using only the Goddess...

    Spoiler Kikwi Are the Koriki?

I think the Kikwi become the Kokiri and Bucha is the Great Deku Tree. All of this is speculation, but here is my idea. After the Hylians move back down to Hyrule, Bucha, who had taken the same form as the Kikwi in the early ages of Hyrule, "plants himself" as a Deku seed. Then their corner of...

    Deku Princess and the Loftwings

I don't think there's any significance. The Loftwings are based on a real bird, and the color scheme for Link's Loftwing was probably directly related to the red bird on the Hylian Shield.

WW-Wii U Should They Do Another Cel Shaded Game?

I think they should keep cel-shaded graphics in the Adult Timeline. Maybe the handheld games should be devoted to the Adult Timeline and build off the Wind Waker engine. I doubt Nintendo will be that predictable, though.

What Do You Think About a Legend of Zelda Game with 2 Playable Characters?

Actually, Wind Waker also had Tingle. That was the most broadly implemented two-player feature in any Zelda game. I'm personally completely opposed to a multiplayer Zelda game that doesn't also feature a strictly singleplayer option. It is too hard to find one or more friends who can all play at...

    Triforce on Demise's Sword

Demise is not the opposite version of Link. He is the opposite version of Hylia, or maybe even stronger. The Girl Monkey in TP=Saria

I believe the Kokiri either became the Monkeys or the Puppets, but I think Saria had already died. Rauru is the only Sage who didn't need to be awakened, and is probably the only ancient Sage who survived Ganondorf's rise to power. My guess is that after the Child ending of Ocarina of Time...
