Really like what I see so far, for the most part.
-So, Ganon is playing a part, which some people have *****ed about since he was in the two previous games, but who knows what kind of role he'll play here? Maybe this game will start with us playing as Link fighting Ganon in a sort of...
That's not a reboot, though.
I agree with a Refounding, but a Refounding is not the same as a reboot. A reboot is a completely new continuity where none of the events of any previous works happened, which we know to be false due to the fact that OoT happened(as per the Ruto and Nabooru...
I recall from CaC that the Deku Tree in BotW and TotK is a completely new Deku Tree, with no relation to the ones in OoT and TWW. It was originally a normal tree that became a nature kami due to existing in an area with high magic for so long.
Well, we know due to both Aonuma and ingame evidence that BotW and TotK are both atleast after OoT and in a world where there's been many battles with Ganon(with him referring to Ganon as a single entity which would be weird if the branch that the Wild Era is in has had multiple Ganons), so make...
I think it's probable that he doesn't know the current whereabouts of the Triforce during the Refounding Era, and no one else seems to, either, so he's making use of the SS as a ''good enough for the time being'' source of power for the moment.
To be fair, there's nothing saying that Ganon...
Plenty of people say that TotK Ganondorf doesn't know about the Triforce, but him not mentioning it isn't necessarily proof that he does or doesn't know about it. He may not know about it, or might but not know its current whereabouts, making him settle for the Secret Stones in the era of...
We know that Hylia had a part in creating it; it's also implied that the Ancient Sages had a part in it(you can see their Medallions on the ground in the sealed temple, and the backstory of other games mention the MS(which is the evolved form of the GS) having the sages help create it). The...
How do you know that TotK Ganondorf doesn't know about the Triforce? Him not mentioning it isn't necessarily proof that he does or doesn't know about it. He may not know about it, or might but not know its current whereabouts, making him settle for the Secret Stones in the era of Rauru's...
BTW, this topic is outdated now, as I adhere to the Refounding theory in light of a recent interview, and examining other evidence, such as the fact that Ganondorf still has OoT Gerudo features(round ears and amber-reddish eyes wheras the other Gerudo have pointed ears and green eyes). I might...
Well, both TP and FSA have the same script writer...
TMC literally gives us the reason why rupees and such are hidden under bushes and pots throughout the series.
My problem with that is that calling something an ''Easter Egg'' should be reserved for things that are either: 1. Unobtainable...
Considering that we've objectively had similar situations before and that there's nothing actually contradicting it? Wouldn't phase me. Nintendo focuses more on gameplay and individual stories before the wider lore, so it also makes sense with how the games are made, anyway.
This is like saying that FSA can't be after TP because there are no members of the Gerudo(aside from Ganon, obviously) in TP, but we see them in FSA. Or that the Minish have to be in every game because they're responsible for why there is rupees and **** like that under bushes. The most...
Why not take the game at its word, that this is the founding of Hyrule, instead of saying that this is a refounding?
This doesn't work, as TotK was added to the official timeline on the official Japanese site after its midnight release, and both BotW and TotK reference the Era of the Hero of...

Explaining facts that you could google yourself if you wanted to is FAR from jumping through hoops, quite frankly.
The thing is, though, there has always been a chronology built game after game.
Zelda 2 is a direct sequel to Zelda 1, taking place years after Link defeated Ganon and took back the Triforces of Power and Wisdom. This is confirmed both ingame and in the manual. This game introduced the Triforce...
When BotW was released, most people agreed that the amiibo/dlc items were non-canon; the DLC items broke the fourth wall(with the ''EX'' branding, not to mention the Xenoblade ****), and the amiibo items required real life items to summon.
However, these are no longer required in TotK. I would...
@GZ Zelda: Why is the Wild set there? Either Link should already have it, or it should be at the Forgotten Temple.
Proof that the amiibo items are most likely still easter eggs.
I might respond to the rest of your points later, but this thought came up earlier, so it may give you something to...
No need for them to be a combo; just like most other games where they're not relevant, BotW/TotK Rito can be offscreen, or killed off in The Great Flood, or whatever, just like how Gerudo were irrelevant to the plot of TP, hence why they weren't in it, or the Four Sword not being in or even...
So? The DT has two overlapping Zora races, too(River and Sea Zoras). Not the first time something like this has happened.
OoT Link did play a huge part in saving Hyrule on the DT, though; he still went through the temples and saved the sages, meaning that without him, the sages wouldn't have...
He's not ''stuck'' sealing Ganon, he sacrifices his life to seal him. Meaning that he's still around as a spirit, and we know that spirits can do many things that living people can do(Daphnes uses the Triforce as a spirit in TWW to eradicate Hyrule and Ganon, and Vaati is still able to attack...
Says who?
While we know that there's different characters with the same name throughout the series, this doesn't seem to be the same for sages aside from Impa and Zelda, who were already legacy characters of their own in previous games before. There's only been one known Ruto, Saria, Darunia...
There's more evidence for it being the founding between SS-TMC:
-There's a smoke ring around Death Mountain like in OoT, unlike in BotW or the present day of TotK.
-Rauru is said in Historia to have built the ToT, ending the Era of Chaos and leading to the founding of Hyrule Kingdom, and he...
I feel like that while TotK is better than BotW overall(which is saying alot considering how much I love BotW), there's a few things I like better in BotW:
-The shrine quests were better in BotW; almost all of them involved cool and interesting puzzles and riddles to figure out. There's some...
Yeah, a great thing about my BotW/TotK placement, atleast IMO, is that it not only takes new information into consideration(such as TotK Ganon being a different incarnation from OoT Ganon, or there there being a new IW during the era of Hyrule's founding, Calamity Ganon having a connection to...
Some of these are kind of a stretch(like the whole Zelda and light crystal thing being the most notable, considering that they aren't the same colour and you have to flip them), but others like the Owl King connection and the glowing symbols of holy power are interesting; is that Zonai or...
Alright, this argument is becoming lond winded, so I'll put it plainly as to why there I think TotK past must be between SS and TMC, as that is the original point of contention: Because, officially speaking, aside from the founding of New Hyrule on the AT, that's where the only time when Hyrule...
Oracles Link is no longer ALttP/LA Link, that was retconned. The Japanese Encyclopedia changed it, which makes sense considering that Link and Zelda don't know each other.
BotW and TotK work fine on the DT, IMO.
The current, up to date DT is this:
ALttP/LA-Oracles-ALBW/TFH-Z1/Z2-BotW*/TotK*
Ganon is revived prior to the backstory of ALBW, and in the backstory of ALBW, he gets the ToP again, and is defeated by the hero and the Seven Sages of that time period, and is sealed(not killed) ''in darkness''...
Neither do I.
Revivals happen all the time for Ganon in the DT, it's not that big of a deal.
And what happens if they want to put new games between ALBW and Zelda 1 with Ganon? Seems limiting.
Are you asking if Historia says that Zelda 1 Ganon is the same one from OoT/ALttP/Oracles? Because...
Both the events of OoT and the IW matter; the sages of OoT even have towns named after them in Zelda 2. World War II is still talked about even though other conflicts have happened.
Zelda 1 was made before any other game in the series. How did you expect them to talk about Ganon being revived...
But the HoT, the princess and the sages did work together to save Hyrule in OoT, on both the DT amd AT. The IW in ALttP's BS didn't happen until sometime later.
It also doesn't clarify whether the HoT survived or died, not that it should be expected to since that monument is from the...
The fact that we don't have a name means that the kingdom may not have even called Hyrule then, which it is during the TotK memories.
By this logic, why don't the heroes of TMC, FS, FSA, or Zelda 1 and 2 use the MS?
The Hero of Time still played a part in saving Hyrule, he just ended up dying in the process.
OoT and Zelda 1 Ganon are one in the same; OoT Ganon keeps getting defeated and/or killed and unsealed/ressurected over and over again on the DT.
Add Zelda 1 between ALBW and and BotW and you have OoT...
It's canon whether you like it or not.
It was necessary anyway; OoT was made as a prequel to ALttP, but neither the adult or child ending lead into it smoothly.
Wrong.
"Lord Jabu-Jabu is the patron deity of the Zoras. Princess Ruto is in charge of preparing his meals, morning and night."
A direct quote from a Zora in OoT.
The fact that Princess Ruto, who was the princess of the Zora, a lively girl, an attendant to the patron deity, became a sage and helped the hero and princess of that time battle an evil man...which happened in OoT.
Zora Monument #5 literally says that OoT happened long ago and that Ruto awoke as one of the sages.

Go to 7:40 and watch.
Zelda references past events, too.
Zelda 2 references Zelda 1 in its intro.
The Wind Waker is a sequel to Ocarina of Time taking place centuries later, featuring a new hero while referencing the hero and events from OoT constantly.
Spirit Tracks takes place 100 years after TWW/PH, featuring...
