I would only think of such. There are thousands of animal species out there; one of them was bound to end up like that. But, as you know, I was only speaking for the most part. So most animals don't actually want to torture their prey. ;D
I completely understand. It isn't natural not to eat meat... but I realized a long time ago, most of the things humans tend to do isn't natural either. (Which doesn't make it okay, of course, but I feel that it's also not okay to torture animals...) For me, it's not a question of whether or not it's natural so much as to whether or not I want to do it. Personally, I wanted to become a vegetarian so I don't have to eat meat from companies that might abuse their animals. There are certain companies out there who have been "certified humane" and whatnot, but those are typically more expensive, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford that when I get older, and also, I won't know for sure if they're treating their animals correctly until I'm the one who is raising and killing my own food. That said, I'm not planning to be a 100% total rabid vegan type of person who won't even wear wool or anything. I'll probably even still eat fish since they actually get to live out in the ocean before being killed for food. It's just that I don't like how people treat the animals when they raise them within a company or farm.
(Also, what are protein supplements? ^_^; When I said there were substitutes for meat, I meant stuff like tofu and beans... Was that what you meant?)
Now that you mention it, weren't there only two pieces of the TRIforce in the original Legend of Zelda? Maybe they had the same thought process as you did right then. XP
I've never heard more sense than what you just told me now. I'm not atheist myself since I do believe there is a possibility of there being a higher power. That's only because of the way these "higher powers" are presented in religious texts and whatnot -- some are all-powerful and all-knowing. If, for whatever reason, a being like that exists, he'd be so powerful that we wouldn't know about it. So the possibility exists, but until something proves itself to me, I'm agnostic because I honestly don't know.
But truthfully, sometimes, I feel as though some religions can end up cheating on people... Religions at their core were made to bring happiness to people, but things tend to change over the years. I've heard of many cases where some highly-ranked religious guy or something ends up conning people for his own gain...
YES! "Chicken is not meat," they say! "Chicken is poultry, not meat!" THAT LOGIC JUST ASTOUNDS ME! D:
*sigh* Yeah, there are a lot of idiots in the world, but I can make peace with it since they'll all get what they deserve eventually. I used to be pessimistic as well... One day, I looked at things a different way and thought that everything is in balance, and we're just noticing the negative things more... Ever wonder why they tend to show more negative things on the news compared to positive ones? Not to mention that we tend to remember our bad moments in life better than the good ones... ;_;
