Unless you’re into soft furnishing (black pieces at that) you just may pass on the Wii U deluxe edition if you’re a ‘core gamer’. This is partly the message that Nintendo want to relay through the Wii U Basic bundle. As reported on The Verge:

While each original Wii came bundled with the iconic Wii Sports, only the Deluxe version of the Wii U will come with Nintendo Land, a first-party title that showcases the GamePad. Bill Trinen, Nintendo’s director of marketing for North America, says he hopes this move will attract people who would rather play Bayonetta 2, ZombiU, or other titles – likely a nod to the “core” AAA action crowd Nintendo is courting this time around.

Last week at the Wii U Preview Event, Bill Trinen demonstrated Metroid Battle off Nintendo Land, a game some will be getting alongside the deluxe Wii U bundle, with its matching black stands and charging cradles. Deluxe goers also get a helping of discount features alongside their Nintendo Network accounts. But for Nintendo, the two options will etch out two consumer types. Have you decided on your bundle type? Games will ramp up to sixty dollars on the Wii U across the board. I know I will be opting for the basic bundle, as I will also have external options for memory storage. How about you?
