Welcome back Zelda Dungeoners! It’s Monday, which means it is time for our second edition of Flute Boy’s Meadow!

Last week we brought you an ocarina player who has accumulated a huge following on YouTube, David “DocJazz” Ramos. For this week’s music feature, I decided to give you guys a look at a newer artist whose covers only reached YouTube earlier this year: the lovely Canadian harp player Samantha Ballard. Make the jump to see her beautiful work!

Known on YouTube as SamiaAntha, Ballard’s instrument of choice is the harp. Since this past June, she has put three Zelda cover songs on YouTube. Though not quite perfect yet, she is still a very skilled musician and her harp has made beautiful work of the songs. You can find two of her covers below.

To begin I’d like to show you her most recent cover: Clock Town, Day 1 from Majora’s Mask. This is a short cover of only a minute in length, but it gets the job done. This has always been one of my favorite works from Majora’s Mask and her harp accents the song’s quieter tones, giving a pleasant walk through the town an all new meaning.

Next, there is Gerudo Valley. We have all heard this song played on countless stringed instruments, especially guitars, but Samantha’s harp work brings something different to the song. Usually an intense track, she turns the tune into something quieter and touching, while still retaining the exotic feel the song is famous for. This was her first YouTube cover so there are a few slight hiccups that aren’t present in her later works, but it is still a lovely piece. Have a listen!

Well, that’s all for today, folks! Be sure to show your support for Samantha by visiting her channel and Twitter, and give a listen to her Zelda’s Lullaby cover as well.

Also, don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments! We’d love to hear what you think of Samantha’s music, and be sure to suggest more Zelda covers, original songs, and cover artists for upcoming editions of Flute Boy’s Meadow. Until next time!
