Striking out of the blue, Nintendo has dropped a big announcement that its first large-scale Nintendo Direct since September 2019 will take place tomorrow, February 17th.

The Direct, set for 2 PM Pacific Time, 5 PM Eastern Time, will feature about 50 minutes focusing on “available games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and games coming to Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2021.”

Those hoping for news on the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may have to wait, as a game of that scale is likely one Nintendo would want to release as a Holiday title, much less mere months after the first proper news since its reveal almost two years prior. Of course, there is always the possibility for a surprise reveal.

Fortunately, as it will cover “available games”, there is the potential for the rumored DLC for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. What’s more, if Zelda‘s 35th anniversary is to be anything like Mario‘s, there’s a chance we could see a number of Zelda titles / collections releasing in the coming months.
