How do you open a chest that 1) spawns underneath the map, 2) immediately begins falling and disappears in seven seconds, and 3) spawns when the player is 60 meters away from it?

This trial may be greater than any shrine in Breath of the Wild, and it has stumped players for four years. The chest in question is located under Aris Beach and is subject to the above conditions. While clever gamers have figured out how to get to its location under the map and to use Cryonis to create a standing platform, they were unable to find a way to get to the chest in time before it despawned. This aptly named “impossible chest” has remained unopened by any player until today.

YouTube content creator Kleric is the first known player to open the chest. His solution to the difficult set up was to approach the chest from more than 60 meters away while already under the map. Immediately as the chest spawns, Kleric uses Magnesis on it to position it (while not shown in the video, he explains this step on his own tweet). Next he uses Stasis on it, allowing him time to throw a bomb and push the explosive to the other side of the chest by striking it with arrows.

Using Revali’s Gale to gain height on the chest, he next uses Stasis and arrows on the chest to push it towards the bomb. Finally, he activates the Bomb which pushes the chest close enough to his Cryonis platform that he is able to snag the chest with Magnesis. After all that, all that is left is to lower the chest onto the platform and open what is the last chest in the game to have never been opened before.

After all this work, what is inside? Amber, a reward that may not seem worthy of its challenge. The real prize, however, is the accomplishment of such amazing of a feat and opening the last unopened chest in Breath of the Wild.
