admin-ajax So there has been a rather cryptic announcement of the possibility of a Zelda television series, yet all know that it’ll be a while before we hear anything more solid about the project. For now, though, here’s something to pacify everyone’s yearning. Vine user Johnny McHone has been releasing a creative and entertaining stop-motion series based on the Legend of Zelda since January this year.

At the outset, the concept seems really simple, however McHone has uploaded 27 parts and even a small behind the scenes look at the set he created. With about seven seconds per video, the total production comes out to a little over three minutes, and isn’t just Link playing his ocarina. Right off the bat, the adventurer’s peaceful moment is interrupted, and Link finds himself in a dangerous predicament that gets progressively worse.

Stop motion isn’t easy, but McHone has done an awesome job crafting a short series that has a great flow to it. He’s creatively incorporated Zelda themed battle music and sound effects (not to mention an impressive combination of his own), various weapons used in the games, great editing to help it all run together smoothly, and an entertaining plot. I can’t wait to see the conclusion, and I really hope McHone will produce more Zelda stop motion videos after he finishes this one.

To see the entire series and be alerted as new additions are posted, visit or follow McHone on his vine. Do you like these vines as much as I do? Was Vine a good outlet for this series? Do you like the idea of a stop-motion Zelda production? Let us know in the comments!
