There are some things that are just meant to go together: peanut butter and jelly, apple pie and cheddar cheese (try it, trust me), Mario and Luigi, modding and video games. However, the latter pair seldom combines with fitness. Nintendo has actually managed to unite gaming and fitness multiple times now, and most recently with the Ring Fit controller. A large ring with an additional leg strap, each holds a Joy-Con, primarily used for the Ring Fit Adventure game. But this recent fitness game aside, somebody decided to add Breath of the Wild to the mix!

Modder Super Louis 64 recently uploaded a YouTube video after he modded his Ring-Con adapters to play the 2017 smash hit, Breath of the Wild. Using a variety of functions with the Ring-Con, he adventured through the Great Plateau. What followed was an entertaining and humorous video showing Super Louis 64 quickly running out of stamina in real life, all while losing hearts in the game. Because of the way the Ring-Con functions, he spent over an hour running in place to get through a short segment at the start of the game.

I found this mod to be extremely entertaining, and admittedly, it looks like a huge challenge. I’d say that I’m in fairly good shape, but I think I’d be exhausted after just one fight with a Bokoblin! And considering the rate at which Breath of the Wild can ramp up the difficulty, I think my legs would give out long before I reached Ganon.

What do you think about this mod? And how long do you think you could last in this marathon of the wild? Would it be something you’d try? Or would you rather sit back and laugh as others give it a shot? Let us know in the comments below!
