Fan Fiction Friday: “The Prince and the Peasant”

Last week on Fan Fiction Friday, we experienced the untold story of Ilia‘s childhood and what happened to her mother. This week we’re getting back to some fan service by turning the tables on the whole series. For 27 years we have traversed the lands of Hyrule as Link, venturing to save the beautiful Princess Zelda. Laura tells the story of a peasant named Zelda and her interactions with the Prince of Hyrule, Link. This story swaps the roles of our beloved heroes and captures it in a way that invites and intrigues.

“The Prince and the Peasant” is the story of a farm girl, Zelda, who is almost trampled by a horse. The man on the horse reveals himself to be Prince Link, and Zelda’s life changes forever. I would like to take time to give a quick synopsis of the story, but I don’t want to spoil anything for the readers. I think this a well written story that truly captures the nature of a young woman discovering who she is destined to become.
