Greetings, friends! The time for the next instalment of Fan Art Showdown has officially arrived, and there is much to be said and done! Before we get into our weekly conversation about last week’s winner, submissions rules and the whole nine yards, I want to talk to everyone about an issue that has recently ‘plagued’ the Fan Art Showdown: unbalanced artwork.

I’ve been taking the time to comb through the comments the past two weeks. Don’t feel as if your suggestions are not being heard – because they have been heard, and noted. Anyways, enough of that, I do hope you’ll find this instalment of Fan Art Showdown more up to par in terms of the way we choose which pieces of fan art we want to show off to you, so please, enjoy!

In this week’s instalment of Fan Art Showdown, we’ll be taking a sharp turn into a different direction. What does this mean? It means we’re going to be looking at a new art style that’s new to Fan Art Showdown. That style being known as Paper-Craft, but before we get any further, if you’ve missed our last instalment of Fan Art Showdown, you can find it here. Don’t worry, we’re still going to be featuring two randomly selected pieces of artwork, as well as last week’s winner. Speaking of last week’s winner, take a look below:

Winning Piece – “Medli” by Paul Reilly

Commendations to Paul for scoring a triumphant victory. 65% of all votes (233 total) went to this piece, leaving Paul in the lead by 30%.

Once again, congratulations to Paul for winning!

Now let’s start our weekly ritual, which includes some rules, and of course, the meat of this weekly feature- the fan art.

  • As most of you know by now, anyone is allowed to submit their own original artwork, whether that be a Photoshop rendering, MS Paint drawing, Paper Craft, etc. However, before you submit your piece to us, you need to take into consideration that there are some guidelines that you need to follow:
  1. All artwork must not contain content that can be considered over PG-13. This includes sexual references, drug/alcohol references, graphic content, and profanity.
  2. You are allowed to send in as many pieces as you want, however please be aware that only one will make it into the Fan Art Showdown at a time. You can specify which one you want put in first.
  3. Please ensure that each of your submissions contain a title. If any pieces are not titled, they will simply be overlooked and will not be featured in the Fan Art Showdown.
  4. If your piece becomes featured in Fan Art Showdown, please do not boast, or slam other competitors. While it is true that one piece will become better than the other in time, PLEASE show some respect.
  5. All submissions NEED to be submitted to fanart@zeldadungeon.net.

Alrighty, then now that’s out of the way, let’s sink our teeth into this week’s featured fan art:

#1 – “Tingle Tingle, Kooloo, Lim-pah!” by Jeffrey Swagmaster

A wild Tingle has appeared! This submission features our one, and only favorite map maker in the entire franchise- Tingle! We see an accurately crafted Tingle who seems to be standing in a floral setting.

#2 – “Wind Waker Link” by Lyrin83

Our favorite Toon Link has appeared… in paper form? Neat! This submission features another nicely crafted Paper version of our Hero, who looks like he’s standing in what looks like a forest setting, just on a Minish scale.

Closing

This week, a pretty huge change was brought to you. Most notably, a selection of fan art that’s balanced well in terms of style alignment, and confirmation that all feedback is read, noted, and appreciated. The Fan Art Showdown is still relatively new, and there’s always room for improvement in this weekly feature.

Anyways, make sure you vote for your favorite piece featured this week, and leave some comments down below!

Also, don’t forget to shoot us any artwork you want featured. You can send them straight off to fanart@zeldadungeon.net!
