Did you enjoy Link’s Awakening for Switch but wish the art style wasn’t as smooth? Would you rather explore Koholint Island from a 1st or 3rd person viewpoint instead of a top-down view? Have you ever wished you could play a Zelda game in Minecraft? Well, Redditor u/pickledscones along with u/thelasteddieonearth have spent over 2 years developing a mod that painstakingly recreates the entirety of Koholint Island in Minecraft, including all of its characters and non-boss enemies!

This mod isn’t just a copy of the map though. Having finished the base design of the island, the team is currently working on adding cutscenes, finishing adding bosses, and having the entire narrative of Link’s Awakening available to play throughWhen they’re completed, they intend for players to be able to experience the entirety of the game in a completely unique way.

The most recent version of the map is available for download as a demo. If you want to support the creators, they do also have a Patreon and a YouTube channel. Although still a work in progress, the few screenshots they’ve shared show an incredible attention to detail. According to the creators, the map will be free when the final version releases.

What do you think of what the creators built so far? Will you be downloading the demo or do you plan to wait until the full version releases? Let us know in the comments below!
