Over time, I have accepted that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a classic game. For the year it was released, it was revolutionary for its storytelling, music, and graphics. Even though I was exposed to The Legend of Zelda much earlier than Ocarina of Time, this particular Nintendo 64 game introduced me to a world that I will never get tired of and always find myself coming back to when I long for nostalgia. From the original to its remasters, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a game that will be a part of me forever.

So imagine my surprise when YouTube content creator How I remember re-imagines the Hyrule Royal Tomb from the graveyard in Kakariko Village. The video opens up with a much grander entrance of the Royal Tomb, and immediately we fall through the hole much like Link when he ventures inside to learn the Sun Song. Closely observing our surroundings, we see that the torches are more detailed, using elements of the Hylian crest. Looking over, we see a hole in the wall as if someone else tried to sneak inside to gain the Royal Family’s treasure. I can picture Link crawling through that space to discover a hidden item or even just a rupee.

However, my favorite section of this video is the reimagination of the ReDeads. Influenced by the taint of the Shadow Temple, the Hylian royal guards stand waiting for anyone that dares cross these catacombs. How I remember captivates the feel of the Royal Tomb with this precise detail. Lastly, we see the final resting place of the Royal Family surrounded by sun rays and musical cords; it’s another reimagining that makes sense since this is the room Link learns the Sun Song from the Composer Brothers.

Although we do not have a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, we are given some insight into the complex world thanks to How I remember. Let us know what you think in the comments below. And if you enjoy this video, be sure to check out the rest of the Zelda locations reimagined on their channel.
