Eiji Makes Every Zelda Game as if it was His Last, But Returns to seek Perfection

Every time you make a game you’re bound to have a series of leftover ideas that you can’t implement, and no one knows this better than Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma. Because of this Eiji always finds himself wishing to create a new, borderline perfect, Zelda title. As a result Eiji Aonuma aims to make each Zelda title as if it was his last.
“I always make these games with the thought that this is going to be my last. However, every time we finish work on it, I always still have regrets, wishing that we could do this or that, and end up wanting to make another Zelda game. I guess that could come to a close if I finally make a perfect game, but perhaps I would not be able to create such a thing even if I spent my whole life on it. However, I know I won’t be able to keep working as a developer forever, so I really would like to create something as close to perfection as possible not too far into the future and be able to retire with no regrets.”
We all know the quest for a perfect game is one that numerous developers aim to achieve, and the closest games to achieve this title are
Ocarina of Time and Super Mario Galaxy. It’s no secret that Eiji Aonuma also wants to surpass Ocarina of Time, so both goals go hand in hand. Hopefully Zelda U will finally be the title that achieves Aonuma’s goal.
