Ever since the beginning, The Legend of Zelda has always featured large explorable worlds, all with varying degrees of nonlinear progression. With recent games like A Link Between Worlds, and especially Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has gone further into creating largely nonlinear games. Many loved this completely fresh take, while others missed the old Zelda formula. In our most recent entry in our series, Hyrule Compendium, we discuss what degree of nonlinearity we’ve enjoyed throughout the series.
