The Gerudo Desert was a sight to behold during my first playthrough of Ocarina of Time. Prior to that title’s release, deserts in Zelda games were limited to flat, top-down areas that, while large, didn’t offer much in terms of perspective within the area itself. I thought it was a big deal to see a large, fully realized 3D desert that I could adventure through and explore in ways I hadn’t been able to previously. With that said, it wouldn’t have been quite the same experience had it not been for the music that greeted me when I arrived. “Gerudo Valley” is still one of the finest pieces in the franchise, and it captures the spirit of the area perfectly.

Musician Brigit O’Regan has put her own spin on this memorable theme with the help of some special friends. The Vespertine Dancers accompany her violin cover of “Gerudo Valley” to give a wonderful bit of visual flair to her rendition, and it really helps to elevate the experience. Some truly impressive choreography is on display here, and the cosplay work is top-notch for everyone involved.

If you like what you’ve seen here, be sure to give both Brigit and the Vespertine Dancers‘ YouTube channels a look for some more amazing content.

So what did you think? Did Brigit’s cover give you flashbacks of following troubling Poes in the Gerudo Desert? Let us know in the comments below!
