In an age where people have experienced the vast world of Skyrim in virtual reality, it makes us wonder if there is a Zelda game we would want to see in that immersive gaming experience. Even though Nintendo has not entered the virtual reality market yet, at least since the Virtual Boy, do you think the Zelda series would be fit for such a platform?

Video games are all about immersing yourself into a world and a story that begs you to keep playing, and that is why virtual reality is the next step in the gaming industry. I don’t know about you, but I have always wanted to spend more time in the vast fields of Hyrule and visit the Gorons in Death Mountain. I think the best games to experience in virtual reality would be the ones with more of a realistic art style. Imagine coming upon a guardian in Breath of the Wild or facing the Shadow Beasts from Twilight Princess. I imagine those would be even more terrifying in virtual reality. Being able to see from Link’s eyes could provide a great view of the beauty that the games have, but the main issue with a virtual reality experience would be playing the games in first person. Would it feel like a Zelda game without the third person view of Link? Would you be able to overlook that in order to see Hyrule Castle through your own eyes?

One of my favorite games visually is The Wind Waker, especially after the HD remake. However, I don’t know that the cel-shaded art style would bode well from a virtual reality point of view.

Let us know if you would like to play a Zelda game in virtual reality. And if so, what Zelda games would you want to see them remake in this way? Let us know in the comments below!
