One of my favorite aspects of Twilight Princess is its healthy mixture of new locales and fresh takes on familiar favorites. The Palace of Twilight, for instance, is distinctly alien, while the Goron Mines feel much like a spiritual successor to Dodongo’s Cavern from Ocarina of Time. Similarly, the Lakebed Temple feels like a repurposed Water Temple.

With Breath of the Wild 2 set to take place in the same iteration of Hyrule as its predecessor, I can’t help but wonder whether some of the temples from Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess are lying in wait for us. Like the aforementioned Lakebed Temple, these updated temples would boast unique layouts, enemies, and puzzles, but retain the spirit and basic aesthetic of their predecessors. And though Breath of the Wild 2’s approach to dungeons — much like the rest of the game — remains a mystery, that sounds like an opportunity too enticing to pass up.

Looking back on some of my favorite dungeons from Hyrule proper, I would love to see a modern take on Twilight Princess’s Temple of Time. Its marble-laiden, tower-like structure just speaks to me on so many levels. With all of the spiders cleared out, I’d love to test out the Dominion Rod on something else. We may have already visited the fabled temple in the original Breath of the Wild, but there’s got to be a time-travel portal buried nearby, right?

What do you think? Would you like to see re-imagined incarnations of classic dungeons in Breath of the Wild 2? If so, then which ones? Let us know in the comments below!
