Nintendo has shown that they are not afraid of spinoff games. From Link’s Crossbow Training, to Cadence of Hyrule, and a Zelda Dungeon staff-loved Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland, the company has provided some fantastic spinoffs that many people adore. Lately, since playing the recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons update, I’ve been wondering what the Zelda equivalent to it would look like. So, I pose the question: How would you feel about a Zelda life sim spinoff?

What would this simulator look like? In my mind, you’d have a choice of iconic locations from the series that you can build upon. Maybe Toon Link would be the default playable character, but it’d be great to see Zelda and Sheik as options, too. Personally, I think it would be cool to spend my time fishing, bug catching, and farming as I build up my surrounding area with characters and buildings. I would also love to populate my town or “province” with notable characters that I love from the series (Malon, anyone?)

All life simulators look different, but I think that modeling a spinoff off on Animal Crossing would result in a lot of fun. As it stands, a lot of players enjoy the mini-games featured in the series, and perhaps those could be implemented in the spinoff too. I know I would have a blast building up my area, deep diving into lore, and establishing a homestead all while have a relaxing gaming experience.

I recognize that life sims are not for everyone, but I’m sure there are a few people out there who are interested in a Zelda spinoff! Let me know in the comments below what you would like to see in your perfect simulation!
