With the recent of announcement of new DLC coming to Cadence of Hyrule later this year it makes one wonder if a sequel is warranted. The indie title based off of the popular Crypt of the Necrodancer games quickly took the Zelda world by storm when it launched in Nintendo’s eshop last summer. The newest DLC brings new playable characters, 39 additional songs, and a new Skull Kid story line. That’s a lot of new content, so why not make a sequel?

Personally, I loved Cadence of Hyrule. My husband and I bought it the day it released and I have personally played through the game 3 times. I am looking forward to the new content, but I’ve often thought that more stories could be told from Cadence of Hyrule. I’m not sure what I would want from a sequel other than the opportunity for more awesome Zelda music remixes and a different style of Zelda game play. I could wish for a much longer game with more dungeons, more items to find, and multiple storylines to play through rather than have DLC release at different times. I could see a full-fledged game doubling the play time of the original. I felt like Cadence of Hyrule passed by too quickly for such a great game. Regardless, the game seems to be loved by Zelda fans for its uniqueness to the series and just for something different to play. In my opinion, Nintendo has a great opportunity to release a sequel that would be loved by fans all around.

What do you think? Do you think Cadence of Hyrule deserves a sequel? Are you looking forward to the additional DLC coming out this year? Sound off in the comments below!
