Rumor has it that another Zelda game is in the making, and I believe many of us are wondering what new story-line and ideas Nintendo will come up with for their newest title.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was one of the most highly anticipated games, and the creators really thought outside the box for it. They wanted it to be different from past Zelda titles, and I personally believe they did a fantastic job. Breath of the Wild set a pretty high standard for any future titles, and I think one of the questions some of us have is whether or not it will be hard to surpass. After all, Nintendo really outdid themselves when it came to making one of the most beloved games more open-world with a huge map and multiple weapons to choose from. In a sense, they gave it a more Skyrim-esque feel without going overboard. However, I believe there’s a lot of room to be improved upon, thus making it fairly easy to surpass Breath of the Wild.
The mechanics would be somewhat the same, and could perhaps almost become a base. So by taking what they had and then improving upon it while adding in a bit of the nostalgia from past Zelda games, a future game could become even better than the last one we were given.
Not only that, but giving the overall story an update would be very beneficial for Nintendo. Fleshing out the characters a little more, (even the side characters such as Zelda’s family) would help pull the player into the game a little more, and illicit more feelings towards it.
The story is good, and it’s one of the reasons I love the game, but of course, I believe there’s always room for improvement. I think there are many questions that have been left unanswered, and perhaps this would be a good time for Nintendo to shed a little light on the subject.
So do you guys think Breath of the Wild could be surpassed? And how do you think a future game could be improved?
