Daily Debate: Which Character Should Link Never Date?

Let’s get one thing out of the way first; ships are a tricky business. Of course, I’m not speaking about your standard river and seafaring vessels. I’m talking about the internet shorthand for a “relationship.” More specifically, the special pining fans do when they long for two characters to fall in love. Earlier this month we celebrated a Week of Love, in which we talked about relationships in The Legend of Zelda. Now, let’s think a little bit about relationship don’ts!

Be honest, we have all thought long and hard about who would be the perfect romantic partner for our heroic protagonist. Link and Zelda, Link and Midna, Link and Sidon, Link and the Great Fairies– hey, I’m not here to judge. But have you given any thought as to who would be the absolute worst partner for Link? A lot of characters, such as Mipha in Breath of the Wild, express their romantic interests in one way or another. However, there’s a long list of potential not-so-great partners.
