“Hey, listen!” From the very beginning of The Legend of Zelda series, we’ve always known that it was dangerous to go alone. While the first few games were solitary adventures, it wasn’t long until Link would have a trusty companion on his quests. Starting with Navi in Ocarina of Time, there was a long stretch of games in the series where Link had a perpetual voice of reason and direction (that we mostly mashed the A button to get through).

To this day, some of them elicit strong feelings (to put it mildly) amongst the fan community. They ran the gamut from a talking hat (Ezlo), to a talking ship (King of Red Lions), to a talking sword (Fi). Some were silent but always there for you, like Epona or the Crimson Loftwing. Some were tricksters from another dimension (Midna), and some (from Four Swords or Tri-Force Heroes) were even yourself!

All were by your side for your adventure, guiding and helping you with puzzles and traversal in numerous ways. So that poses the question to you: which companion was your favorite? Which would you choose to travel to the ends of Hyrule with? Or do you prefer Link back to his original lone wanderer ways? Either way, let us know what you think!
