In the age of digital gaming, pre-order bonuses can convince you to purchase a physical copy. A new Zelda release will always result in a purchase from me, but I admit that I don’t always pre-order games. Or pick them up at launch. Maybe I’m not as excided for the game, or simply want to finish my backlog before diving in. But, a lot of the times, my decision to wait comes down to a lack of pre-order bonuses.

Before we can determine which Zelda title had the best pre-order bonus, we should to take some time talking about what makes a a good bonus. For me, a great pre-order bundle contains an art book or a physical good that won’t be available for retail. Something that, long after I’ve put the game down, I can look at and remember the game with fondness. Probably my favorite Zelda bonus is the Twilight Princess HD music CD. Every time I listen to it while working or driving, I recall one of my favorite games with a smile.

Finding the right pre-order goodies can also be a bit of tricky thing. With retailers across the world offering wildly different incentives from their competitors, consumers may find themselves shopping around for the goods they like the most. Or waiting to order until the very last second, deciding on which bonuses they want the most. Are extra goodies essential to a good game launch? Well, that’s a Daily Debate for another day! But they certainly are nice and can elevate the launch day experience for customers.

What are your thoughts? Do you have a favorite pre-order bonus that you still cherish? Or do you feel like most Zelda bonuses fall flat in comparison to other franchises? Let us know what you think in the comments!
