Daily Debate: Which Zelda Remake is the Most Well Done?
Posted on November 17 2019 by John Piland
Remakes have become a staple of the Zelda franchise ever since the release of Ocarina of Time 3D in 2011 – excluding the more obscure BS Zelda no Densetsu, Link’s Awakening DX, and Ocarina of Time: Master Quest. Since the N64 classic first hit the 3DS, five remakes have been released in the forms of Four Swords Anniversary Edition, The Wind Waker HD, Majora’s Mask 3D, Twilight Princess HD, and the recent Link’s Awakening.
Every remake has its fair share of additions and changes, big or small, and they are all out to be met with varying reception. Some, more than others, garner a fair share of controversy, such as Majora’s Mask with changes to the bosses or the improved graphics. Others are showered with praise, such as The Wind Waker HD with its improved graphics and the addition of the Swift Sail, which greatly increases the slow sailing speed of the original.
Whatever the case, each game has its ups and downs in the eyes of different players. That being said, which of the many Zelda remakes do you find to be the most well done? Let us know in the comments below!

John has been a Zelda fan for over 10 years now and is proud to say the series has had a major impact on his life (and wallet). After years of going to Zelda Dungeon for guides or the latest news on the series, John achieved their dream when they joined the writing team in 2019; John can hardly believe how long it’s been. A librarian, he loves meticulously arranging his library of Zelda games and collectibles. After what felt like an eternity of waiting for Tears of the Kingdom, John looks forward to the future of the Zelda franchise with enthusiasm, whether that’s the upcoming movie, a new spin-off/remake, or the next big game.
