Daily Debate: Which Unexplored Era Would You Most Like To See Turned Into A Zelda Game?

Despite how inconsistent its lore can be at times, the Zelda timeline has captivated my imagination throughout the years. Since the first time I journeyed through Ocarina of Time, I have loved theorizing about how each entry connects with one another. Although Nintendo unveiled the official timeline through Hyrule Historia in 2011, there are stretches of time — even centuries — in between several games that remain shrouded in mystery. From the Era of Chaos to the Hyrulean Civil War, there are at least a handful of time periods that are practically begging to be explored in either a proper Zelda game or spin-off title.
Admittedly, part of the allure of some of these events is the mystery surrounding them — the fact that we don’t know everything allows our imaginations to run wild with fun theories. That said, there are certain aspects of Zelda’s mythology that I would like to see more concrete answers for.
For instance, just who were the Dark Interlopers that evolved into the Twili? Were they a rogue Sheikah faction similar to the Yiga? Maybe a group of magic wielders from various races? Did they even originate from Hyrule? I’ve been dying to see more of the Interloper War — presumably set during the aforementioned Era of Chaos — as it just seems like too much of an important piece of the timeline to not be further explored. On top of that — and unlike some of the other eras — it seems like there would be enough material for it to work as a full-fledged Zelda game.
What about you, though? Is there a particular part of the Zelda timeline that you’re still waiting to experience first-hand? How about Ganondorf’s failed attempt to conquer Hyrule in between Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess? Let us know in the comments below!
