Daily Debate: Which Songs Do You Wish Had Been Featured in Cadence of Hyrule
Posted on July 20 2019 by John Piland
The latest Zelda installment, Cadence of Hyrule, has been available for some time now. The rhythm-based, indie spin-off game takes from its namesake, Crypt of the Necrodancer, and features a bombastic track of 131 total songs. The soundtrack includes both remixes of classic Zelda scores, as well as original compositions.
It’s thanks to a variety of towns and regions, caves and dungeons, shops, battles and minigames that this game was able to feature so many tracks. While it covered various different iterations of some of the series’ most famous songs, and even revived some one-hit-wonders, it was inevitable that many would not be present.
This reality opens the door to discussion — what songs would you like to have been featured in Cadence of Hyrule? I think it would have been great to hear a piece of Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess in the game.
Do you feel they went with the right versions of songs featuring multiple variations, such as Lost Woods? And what songs do you think should have been included in the game’s soundtrack? Let us know what songs you would have chosen in the comments below!
John has been a Zelda fan for over 10 years now and is proud to say the series has had a major impact on his life (and wallet). After years of going to Zelda Dungeon for guides or the latest news on the series, John achieved their dream when they joined the writing team in 2019; John can hardly believe how long it’s been. A librarian, he loves meticulously arranging his library of Zelda games and collectibles. After what felt like an eternity of waiting for Tears of the Kingdom, John looks forward to the future of the Zelda franchise with enthusiasm, whether that’s the upcoming movie, a new spin-off/remake, or the next big game.
