He is the driving force of evil behind almost all of The Legend of Zelda series, possessor of the Triforce of Power, and the incarnation of The Demon King. The lead antagonist of the Zelda series, Ganondorf has made some of the best laid plans of conquer Hyrule. Whether he’s taking form of a demon beast or using his influence as a man, there is no denying that he is powerful and cunning. Ganondorf has made a lot of evil plans over the years in trying to take over Hyrule, but which one was his best?

Personally I think that the Ganondorf from Twilight Princess had one of the best plans in the entire series. His story arc is also compelling too (and even built upon in the Twilight Princess manga.) This version of Ganondorf is terrifying. He was able to influence and take control of the Twilight Realm through Zant while also having a pulse on Hyrule as well. He takes his power seriously here and is even able to possess and control Princess Zelda and attack Link. Even though we do not battle Ganondorf until the end of the game we are watching his plan unfold as a result of his influence of Zant.

The final battle is a long and hard fought one, and even in the end Ganondorf has final words for our heroes, “the history of light and shadow will be written in blood.” It’s as if he knew that he would continue to carry on throughout Hyrule’s history. There has been speculation that the body that we saw in the teaser trailer of Breath of the Wild 2 was actually the mummified body of the Ganondorf from Twilight Princess so maybe there is a larger connection to be made. That last statement is major speculation, but if we’re talking about best plans, this would be quite the plan.

These were my thoughts, but we want to hear what you think. Which iteration of Ganondorf had the best plan? Let us know in the comments below.
