Daily Debate: Which Is The Best Quest In The Minish Cap?

Fourteen years ago, The Minish Cap hit the Gameboy Advance portable systems with a surprising quietness considering its place as a Zelda title. Fortunately, despite its somewhat lackluster marketing in the west and its release at the end of the GBA’s lifespan, The Minish Cap remains an underground favorite.

Taking and combining elements of its predecessors A Link to the Past and The Wind Waker, this Zelda title aimed to introduce its audience to a lighthearted tone while still incorporating a new and interesting villain in the form of Vaati. Though Vaati had appeared previously in Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures, The Minish Cap does a wonderful job of showing his story and character while showing us a different kind of villain to Ganondorf. While doing so, The Minish Cap also incorporates a myriad of simple quests that both tell the story of the Minish as well as distract you from all of Vaati’s shenanigans. Whether you’re gathering kinstones and helping the mischievous Minish assist the villagers they’re so intrigued by or gathering cuccos and hoping you don’t accidentally unleash cucco armageddon, there’s always something fun and interesting to do.
