Breath of the Wild introduced us to a beautiful open world, but it also introduced us to the illustrious dragons that travel the vast region of Hyrule. The dragons — Farosh, Dinraal, and Naydra are primordial beings, each associated with an ancient spring. Farosh – courage, Dinrall – power, and Naydra – wisdom. These dragons are thought to serve the goddesses.

I find it so hard to choose a personal favorite, because I love all three dragons for different reasons. But if I had to choose, it would be Naydra. Naydra is the dragon that is represented by the Spring of Wisdom. In Breath of the Wild, you first encounter the icy dragon at the top of Mount Lanayru. Naydra is covered in malice and it’s up to Link to free the dragon from Calamity’s grasp.

I really like Naydra’s over-all design and coloring. From the icy horns on its head, all the way down to its glowing blue scales. I love the representation of the name Naydra, as it is probably derived from Nayru, the goddess of Wisdom. All of the dragons are beautiful, but Naydra has a different appeal to me. This might be because the dragon could be associated with Zelda as well.  All of the springs have side quests attached to them, but I love how the quest with Naydra seems more personal to the dragon.

Which of the three dragons is your favorite, and why? Sound off in the comments below!
