What sets The Legend of Zelda apart from most other video game franchises can be boiled down to two key areas—grand storytelling and a great adventure. The rolling hills of Hyrule, chilly dungeon depths, and soaring mountain peaks have long been staples of the Zelda scenery. While plenty of other franchise titles use similar backdrops to weave their yarns, what sets The Legend of Zelda apart is the grand scale of it all, and a deep sense of purpose and accomplishment that comes from marking another sunken temple off your checklist.

These games encouraged and rewarded exploration long before Breath of the Wild burst onto the scene. So, what about your adventures? Not all Zelda games are mobile, but with the popularity of the Switch and 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, the opportunities to take Zelda on the go is continuously increasing. Have you ever taken a game with you while camping or backpacking in the deep woods? Perhaps, you completed Phantom Hourglass while sunbathing on the beach? Did your games keep you company during deployment, or time spent abroad for another reason?

If the most adventurous place you’ve played is at a friend’s house during an 8th grade sleepover, that’s perfectly fine! Let us know all about your real and dream adventures in the comments!
